Re: [Audyssey] release dates that can not be adhered to
I don't think that release dates should be given, although if an expected, and that is the key word here, dates of release are given, we should be told why they are not met. If you can't keep a promise, you either shouldn't have made it or you should explain why you can't keep it. --- Shepherds are the best beasts, but Labs are a close second. - Original Message - From: william lomas will.d.lo...@gmail.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Monday, December 26, 2011 10:26 PM Subject: [Audyssey] release dates that can not be adhered to hi all do people thinnk, as i do, that as a blind gaming community we need to not be given release dates? take this new title, kurt wolf, from the same developer as aerik. quote game is out new years eve quote we heard this about other titles in our community and when deadlines could not be adhered too, it was as though Armageddon ad come to earth. then quote demo uploading today quote if someone knows this will not be the case, or the goal can evidently not be met, why not provide an update, as for example, does howard sherman of www.malinche.net explaining why the deadline can not be met, or, not give a date at all? Re: [Audyssey] release dates that can not be adhered to
Hi William, That's precisely why I don't give release dates myself. I know given my hectic schedule that a game will get done when it gets done and no sooner. Trying to put a release date on it only adds a lot of unnecessary pressure to complete it without setbacks, technical problems, and any number of problems that might pop up between the time the developer starts the project and releases it. So no I don't think a developer should give a fixed release date for a game unless they are absolutely certain they can meet the deadline. Cheers! I tend to agree with that. If I were developing games I'd probably follow that particular battle plan so to speak. Re: [Audyssey] release dates that can not be adhered to
no, its more like the developers need to hold off on set dates, untill they are sure the product will be ready for that date. Having an upcoming date for the game, gets the hype going, and gets the interest ready for the game. dallas On 12/27/2011 14:26, william lomas wrote: hi all do people thinnk, as i do, that as a blind gaming community we need to not be given release dates? take this new title, kurt wolf, from the same developer as aerik. quote game is out new years eve quote we heard this about other titles in our community and when deadlines could not be adhered too, it was as though Armageddon ad come to earth. then quote demo uploading today quote if someone knows this will not be the case, or the goal can evidently not be met, why not provide an update, as for example, does howard sherman of www.malinche.net explaining why the deadline can not be met, or, not give a date at all?
