Thanks for the advice. Using 3.17 has worked.

Also had to change settings in
Configuration
Preferences
Message View
Text Options
HTML Messages
Untick render HTML message as text
 Select other two options

Thank you

Dillo is ancient.

Claws has a plugin named "fancy" that handles HTML. At present, this is
disabled by Gentoo due to the fact that the HTML rendering engine
(webkit-gtk for Gtk2) has more holes than Swiss cheese. The Gentoo dev's
are waiting on the Gtk3 version of Claws so that a newer HTML engine can
be used. Until then, it's plain text only.

Dillo support went away a while ago but came back in the recent 3.17.0
release, as long as you set the dillo USE flag and enable the plugin in
the Claws configuration.

I see you are using 3.15.0 so if you want HTML support, you'll need to
add ~mail-client/claws-mail-3.17.0 to package.accept_keywords

[gentoo-user] claws-mail HTML

2018-09-03 Thread jdm
Hi All,

Does anyone know if claws-mail can read HTML?

According to wiki enabling dillo use flag should work but this is no
longer available.

Any suggestions.

I'm sure I used to be able to read HTML emails.

Thanks

John

[gentoo-user] Claws-mail

After upgrading some x11 libraries yesterday my claws-mail broke with
segmentation fault. Upgrading to latest testing version fixed the issue.
Believe libxcb is the culprit here. Should this be reported as a bug or will
the devs be aware?

It's the startup-notification stuff that broke it, the devs are aware and
there is a bug on it.

Thanks Neil. The startup notification problem makes sense as when I tried
awesome that also broke claws-mail.

[gentoo-user] claws mail question

2008-06-16 Thread Iain Buchanan
I am trying out claws, and so far it looks pretty good, but as you may
be able to see, I'm still using evo :) There is (so far) only one thing
that lets claws down, hopefully someone can show me how to do it:

Virtual folders. Because I have thousands of messages at work and at
home, and I frequently need to find messages from months or even a
couple of years ago for contractual reasons, I heavily use virtual
search folders in evolution.

It's essentially the claws search folder option, but the results are
put in a new folder. The differences are:
 1. Results are kept across program restarts - no need to enter the
search terms every time
 2. Results are placed by themselves - not interspersed with all
other messages in the original folder
 3. Results are updated on the fly - as soon as a message is
changed / arrives in the original folder, it appears in the
virtual folder
 4. Changes to the message in the virtual folder (delete, mark, etc)
apply to the real message
 5. Works with _any_ selection of real folders (imap, pop, whatever
you have)

Is there anything that can do this? I found matrix, but it doesn't do
3, 4, or 5 (only works on maildir, not imap). I can't find anything
else...

TIA,

One question: Evolution let me make a permanent folder with the
