Follow that link. Then save the file to

Thanks, it worked and all is well.

 Hi,

please note, that the pdf version is not part of the official
release. All pdf files are very experimental, for some languages the
manual can not even provided as pdf in experimental status.

Further more, it would be helpful to tell us which language you were
 looking for.

 Happy GIMPing!
I just downloaded and installed the new GIMP manual on SUSE10.0 I
did it using checkinstall (checkinstall -R --install=yes) instead
of make install. It built the rpm fine, installed the manual and
YAST software management shows it installed. Only issue I ran into
was clicking help in GIMP2.2 it can not find the Mozilla browser
(Must be default in your installation program) I corrected it by
changing my GIMP browser preference to firefox %s and it works,
then changed to Konqueror (no%s) and it also works. Briefly
looking at the manual it appears it will be helpful. Thanks for
 the good work.

Re: [Gimp-user] Color temperature modification plugin available!

2006-12-15 Thread Luca de Alfaro

Not as a script. It does not depend on the script, but on how Gimp calls
the script. Unfortunately, the script is called only when you press OK, and
not when you modify a control.
It's a pity, and I wonder if scripts could be called differently - at each
change of some control - in some future version of Gimp.

Simple: download it, and put it into the ~/.gimp-2.2/scripts/

That's it. Then start Gimp, and you will find it in

Thank you, I found it in Filters/Colours/Convert Colour Temperature. It
certainly is effective.

Would it be possible to make it show the effect as sliders are moved
before having to click OK.

If your using linux, after the downloaded file is installed, it creates an
html document. It defaults to the Mozilla browser but I use firefox and
konqueror, they both read the document fine. OR it actually gets linked to
the help tab in GIMP. it will use the browser your GIMP preference is set
for. I don't know about windows if thats what your using. Also don't know
about a PDF update yet.

[Gimp-user] Running Gimp 2.2.12 and 2.3.12 on Windows

2006-12-15 Thread D. Jones
I am trying to run both versions of the Gimp in
Windows XP SP2. The 2.2 version runs with no
problems, but the the 2.3 version indicates upon
running that it is unable to locate libgimp-2.0-0.dll
or libgimpui-2.0-0.dll. I set in environment
variables that it was suppose to look in another
folder My Documents for the dll, but then when I do
that I get The Gimp has experienced an error and needs
to close. When I had version 2.3.6 I had no problem
running the two side by side however now with 2.3.12 I
cannot seem to accomplish the same thing. Has anyone
else using Windows XP been able to run the two side by
side and if so how?

I may or may not be able to help, but for starters we need a little more
information to be able to diagnose the problem.

First of all, what operating system are you using?

Second, how do you define not working? Do you mean the font is not
available (doesn't appear in the menu), or do you get poor results when
you use it? And if it's the latter, please describe the results you get.

Also, you said there are some other fonts that aren't working. Even if
you never use them, it might be helpful to ask what distinguishes all
the fonts that don't work from those that do. E.g., do they all come
from the same foundry? Are they all in the same directory? And so on ..

[Gimp-user] Language

2006-12-15 Thread James J. Roper
I am new to this, so please bear with me.

I live in Brazil, and use Windows in Portuguese, but would prefer to
have the GIMP in English. Of course, during installation, it opted for
Portuguese since that is the language of my operating system. So, my
question is, how can I make it speak English to me?

Thanks,

Jim

  So, my
question is, how can I make it speak English to me?

You merely have to create an environment variable and set its value to
en.

If you are using Windows:

set lang=en
c:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\bin\GIMP-2.2.exe

If you are using Linux, I will assume you know how to set an environment
variable for the terminal shell that you prefer. :)
