[Gimp-user] "Image Properties" dialog in inches?

2010-11-18 Thread jk78
Using Gimp 2.6.10 (Windows).

So, I have set my image to Inches in the dropdown in the main window, and also
in the Image --> Print Size menu, but the Image --> Image Properties dialog
displays the print size in mm. I find this particularly odd since the
Resolution _is_ listed in ppi (pixels per Inch).

Is there any way to change that?

I'm on Linux so I can't help much, but in the plug-ins directory,
besides pyconsole.py, I have:
pyconsole.py, py-slice.py, python-console.py, python-eval.py . Have you
got these?

[Gimp-user] Pytho-Fu window not visible

2010-11-18 Thread gnagflow
I installed Python 2.6.6 - 32bit on a PC HP Elite 7100 with i7-860 processor
(64-bit) and the other necessary software components according to the install
pyton Fu tutorial on this web site.
After that I installed gimp 2.6.11. I see the Menu-Item Python-Fu under Filters
after start of gimp.
But if I klick on Python-Fu, the Python-Fu Panel doesn't open (at least not
visible). I can see that the mouse cursor changes for a short time but no
visible result. Did somebody have the same problem?

Ciao Stefano :)

Hi, I don't know how to make a nice gel effect, but if I were you, I
would experiment with methods used in creating metallic effects to make
a shiny, 3d looking surface. I have once followed a good tut that I
think can be useful for your purpose too:
http://penguinpetes.com/b2evo/index.php?title=gimp_tutorial_metallic_text&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1

Of course, you will have to change this workflow to make a gel-like
effect. I suppose that adding some transparency to your layer and using
proper colors can solve this.

Best regards,
Abel
