A template currently isn't a full image, just the basic characteristics like Width, Height, and (possibly, don't remember for sure) Fill . Until such time as full XCF templates are implemented, I suggest instead making the base body map, copying the XCF you just made, and finally creating a custom launcher which passes the path of that XCF to GIMP. Then every time you needed to create a new record, use that launcher. That way you would immediately have that base XCF loaded, ready to make a modified version from, each time you start GIMP. ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user

As the doc says: Templates are templates for an image format to be created, so there are mere a starting point for images. Once an image is created, they serve little purpose. Why do you want to apply a template afterwards? If you want to resize the image, use Image/scale image or the Crop tool (or selection/crop to selection). ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
[Gimp-user] templates
I want to design and print some inserts for DVD cases and wondered if anyone new of any, ready to use templates. There are lots of free templates available but they only appear to work with windows based software and I use Ubuntu 7.04. There is a linux application called glabels but that does not have the one template I want. The help file of glabels describes how to make ones own templates but I do not understand how to do this. Perhaps my brain is not as agile as it was 70 years ago. Norman ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
