I have already assigned these key-combinations to other functions in the keyboard shortcuts menu, but the default menubar assignments are taking precedence. As they should be :) How can I disable these menu accelerators so that I can regain the use of the Alt-[ESVILCTRWH] sequences? Theoretically, you need to find or create a files called .gtkrc-2.0 and add the following line: gtk-enable-mnemonics = 0 Maybe there should be a toggle on the Configure Keyboard Shortcuts menu to handle this. It sounds like a too much of a corner case for an option, IMHO. And certainly, if you reassign these keystrokes in the menu, their original function should be disabled. Maybe :) Alexandre Prokoudine http://libregraphicsworld.org ___ gimp-user-list mailing list gimp-user-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list

As far as I can tell, accelerators are conceptually not configurable in GTK+. [Gimp-user] On-Screen Pen and GIMP
I'm not comfortable with the mouse for freehand selection. Do you know if Gimp is compatible with on-screen writing pen like PT Pen or Duo Pen (http://www.edsoft.com.au/pt-pen) ? I'm only interested in on-screen writing pen not in any other pens not directly on screen. The use of the alt key to navigate menus ties in to accessibility and to internationalization; the shortcuts do not. An unfortunate side-effect of this is that the alt key mnemonics don't work if the menu bar is not shown, although that may provide an answer for the original poster - turn off the menu bar. You can still right-click to get to the menus. Re: [Gimp-user] Fw:
First we need some more info: 1) What operating system are You using 2) Wchich version of GIMP - do You mean Gimp 2.0 ? Or Gimp 2.6 or 2.8 or something else. I can only gues that You mean Gimp 2.8 on some M$ Windows system ... probably You deleted some system files before and now system don't know what to remove. It's just gues i've forgoten where i lost my crystall ball. However if i guess correctly what happened, one proven way was to manually clean registry, and later remove unnecessary files. 2012/12/2, Stan Dawson swdjr...@verizon.net: - Original Message - From: Stan Dawson To: gimp-user-list-ow...@gnome.org Sent: Saturday, December 01, 2012 12:11 PM I am trying to remove GIMP2 from my computer, but when I click on REMOVE, I get a message error stating that File C is missing and it does not remove. Worth a try: Install it again with the same installer files as the version you've got now - this should restore any missing files - and then remove it. Regards, Michael --- As far as I remember, GIMP does not write anything in the regedit or in Windows so it is possible to uninstall it just by removing the directory with everything inside in the program files whether in Program Files (X86) or in Program Files depending where and which version has been installed. Then you have to go in C:\Document and Settings (XP) or in C:\User (Win7) then under the name your are using to find the directory .gimp-2-x and erase it. Then you have to erase the shortcuts. Now you are clear and clean then you have to erase everything in the basket. I didn't know that. I had been using the mouse to select brushes, not the tablet. I'll try that. Thanks! Did you select this brush/color with the tablet?
