Re: [gina-users] finally used the s/pdif

2000-01-27 Thread cjamison

I am no computer expert but I unplug and replug the s/pidf connections on my
computer while it is still on all the time. It doesn't seem to matter. And I
have never read anything saying that you shouldn't do it either. I don't see
why it would matter... But maybe I am wrong and just lucky so far.

Anyone with some technical knowledge to shed light on the situation???

is anyone using anything to change S/PDIF inputs
from say a DAT machine and a Digital recording
without shutting everything down to do it?

something like an A/B box...

Hi Dave:

I have done a small switch to change my soundblaster's spdif or my
Cd's spdif into my Gina, so far I only hear a click hen I change it. But
when I unplug the coax cable and plug it live to another device, even
the Ginas spdif output, I sometimes hear very annoying sounds and hum.
but once I start the other device coming into the Gina's spdif , it sort
of goes away. I'm not sure if this is kind of what you're talking about,
but I don't shut anything down to do this changes.
