The Constitution of India envisages that the bureaucracy has to be absolutely non-partisan. Government offices should never have been places to unload party cadres. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has yesterday publicly admitted that all government jobs are being given to BJP workers. Infact after coming to power in March 2012, Manohar Parrikar had in the name of cleansing the system swiftly cancelled appointments of hundreds of government employees made by the earlier regime. But over the last two and a half years despite the state coffers being in doldrums Manohar Parrikar has had the audacity of recruiting thousands by creating a route to infiltrate his party cadres into the administration. Merit has been no criteria. The advertisements and the selection process is a mere formality with the chosen candidates identified much earlier. Ironically with crores of rupees being spent on e-governance the size of the bureaucracy should have been actually halved but it has been bulging by the day and has almost reached 60,000 which is extremely steep for a small state like Goa. The now saffronised Goa Government Secretariat at Porvorim has virtually become the BJP headquarters. It only remains to officially switch the tricolor by hoisting the BJP party flag. This was also not mentioned on the form. Next, visit they will probably ask him to come back another day to pay the fees by bank challan. Then they call again another day to collect notices (to be posted to various parties by Regd. a/d) - This much process likely to take upto 3-4 weeks. Then you need time of another 2-3 weeks for newspaper publications (in most cases) and then file sitting there for months or years for want of bribe.. The fact that Jose Vaz is a Brahmin is a fact. In fact, many, many years I think I wrote somewhere that the case of Vaz preceeded at a much faster rate than that of Fr. Agnelo. Those in the foiefront of the Vaz movement belong to the same caste. The Fr Agmelo was allegedly not promoted with the same vigious. When enquired with people who were aware of the politics behind Fr. Agnelo's case had been stuck because of lack of miracle/s. There was talk that the Pope would be approached to declare him saint without the formal adherence to the process. As we know, the Pope waived the need for a second miracle. The process for canonization is complex. We have to wait and see. Casteism should have no place in religion, and should be avoided from making it big. Those who do so are committing a cardinal sin, and Fr. Jose Vaz must interceed with the Lord. Eugene

The bet is that all stock index's are high and that they are in for a major correction. Personally, I am betting that correction will come in the next four weeks. Secondly, the US had a string of good economic news this week, which means it is bad news for the stock market. The Fed now has the option of raising interest rates earlier than scheduled. This could result in GIC refugees selling their holdings in stocks and returning to the safety of bond/money market instruments. As you are well aware, when this happens, one set of prices will go up and the other down. Dear Goans It pains me to know that there are few Editors in local newspapers who often take wrong decision by discarding certain writers by accepting their good articles in their newspaper. There are many writers especially Goan writers or co-Editor or Sub-Editors who are been isolated or made them to take rest at home. Today on Sat weekend edition dated 27th Sept , 2014, I happen to read an article in The Goan on line edition, and understood sentiments expressed in his article by Dr. Joe DSousa who is a former Faculty Member at Goa University as he writes by title ROLE OF PRESS IN GOA'S DEVELOPMENT . After reading it, I realized that this whole article was meant for certain Editor/s who have put him down or stopped him writing especially in Herald. All these times I used to read his fantastic articles in different episodes especially in Herald but now I come to know that even his article which he used to get it published every year is not going to appear in this coming Anniversary Day of Heraldo. This could be on account of bad books taken place recently with the present Editor Sujay Gupta and himself. It makes me feel sad that this kind of decision is abruptly taken by these Editor/s. This whole article published in The Goan, I suppose is focused by earlier news on Yellow Journalism which was earlier been reported in Herald and was made to read by Goans as Gutter Press and it was bad in taste, that the Press themselves have reached in such a situation bringing down their reputation of each other. This kind of fight was never ever seen in Goa before but now it happens. I also know that there are many such cases or incidents taken place especially with Goan writers who are mum and do not want to express their feelings and keeping themselves with one or two papers in heart. As I said before and it is true, if any one wants their letter or article to appear in print, there is a simple solution or a medicine which you need to praise that particular Editor by saying THANK YOU EDITOR' -= WELL DONE EDITOR =KUDOS TO EDITOR - = EXCELLENT NEWS PUBLISHED BY EDITOR ETC, ETC.. AND your article is surely been published with minimum or no editing even if it is not well written. Hope you all understood the fate of these editors working in our Goa. You have had the pulse on the right indicators right from the time Gold was making an upward swing. Those who accepted your advice, were rewarded quite handsomely. It is about time to end this artificially-keeping-down of interest rates. For the past decade or so, those who saved did not truly benefit from the keeping of funds in savings; funds which lending institutions used to create wealth for themselves.
