Re: [GRASS-dev] removing nviz from trunk

2012-10-29 Thread Maris Nartiss
As old NVIZ is set to go anyway, I'd say Yes for removing it from
trunk. There is still time till 7.0 release to improve wxnviz to match
all features/stability of good old NVIZ.

Maris.

Re: [GRASS-dev] removing nviz from trunk

2012-10-29 Thread Helena Mitasova
One question - Does the region change work properly for wxnviz in grass7?
In grass6.4.3 it is necessary to quit entire wxgui to get the region change to
apply to wxnviz,
but based on the discussions with Anna this can be fixed in grass7?
(I just got back from europe so it will take me a day or too to catch up and
get some time to test).

I agree that tcl/tk nviz can be removed from trunk - I have been using wxnviz
exclusively for the research and edu work
for couple months now and I did not see a reason to go back to old nviz for
anything so far.

[GRASS-dev] Extending r.colors to support multiple maps

2012-10-29 Thread Sören Gebbert
Dear all,
i have attached a patch that extents r.colors to support multiple maps
as input.
The idea is that each map gets the same color table attached that is
computed based on the range and cell statistics of all input maps.
This is IMHO very meaningful in case of time series data.

The patch provides full backward compatibility. Multiple maps can be provided
as comma separated map list or as an input file with one map name per line.

Please have a look at the patch.
I would like to apply the it as well as tests in case there are no
objections against.

Best regards
Soeren

[GRASS-dev] [GRASS GIS] #1773: Map selection expand broken

In r53545 of trunk, clicking the triangle to expand the list of maps from
a map set is broken. Instead of expanding the map list to show maps in a
mapset, it closes the selection list and returns the focus to the entry
box. I assume that this is due to some change in gselect.py. I don't yet
know if this affects 6.4.3 or not and can't check for awhile.

In the GUI for d.vect.chart, it says that multiple colors can be selected
and users are presented with a graphic color selection dialog. This is a
serious problem with control of the module if you cannot select colors in
 the graph.

BUT this does not select any colors that are actually used by
d.vect.chart. The module uses default colors whatever you pick. This is a
probably a GUI issue, not a problem with the underlying d.vect.chart
 module

Again, this may also affect 6.4.3.

Changes (by cmbarton):

  * milestone:  7.0.0 = 6.4.3

Comment:

This does affect 6.4.3. The color you pick affects the first color of the
data series but none of the others.

Previously, you needed to specify colors with RGB triplets, but you could
specify colors for all data columns displayed. Now that is no longer
 possible.

[GRASS-dev] why is r.li.setup unavailable in GRASS 7?

2012-10-29 Thread Michael Barton
Why is r.li.setup unavailable in GRASS 7? It is greyed out in the menu and
cannot be launched from the command line. Without this, you cannot use the
other r.li modules. But I also see tickets that indicate r.li.setup has been
happening very recently.
