RE: [h-cost] cleaning problem
For grease; dab it with some GOOP hand cleaner, the one used by auto mechanics to wash their hands. Lightly wet it and then dab it if its too delicate the textile, if not just dab it and let stand for some while then rinse. Re: [h-cost] cleaning problem
I used it on a bright yellow cotton blouse that I was sure that I would never be able to wear again, since the chocolate stain was right in front. The shirt did not bleach out and the set in stain was gone. If you are unsure about the material try a like fabric first. I tried spot remover, a laundry pretreater like Shout, and Zout. Has anyone tried Oxyclean? On Oct 22, 2007, at 11:42 AM, Sharon Collier wrote: What things have you tried? Re: [h-cost] cleaning problem
I actually managed to get a grease stain out with some corn starch applied rubbed into it after it had been wet. It made a mess but the stain came out after it had been washed. Oddly enough I had been thinking of the H-Costume thread on the cornmeal through people's hair for cleaning, when they don't wash it in the normal way... It's used to de-grease fabrics before dyeing and does a good job of getting the lanolin out of raw wool.
