Iwas a bit late trying to listen to LRA 36  at 1802  via pardinho when after 
the ID and 5 seconds of program the signal was off ! around-85 average 
modulated signal -100 dbm floor for 7 minutes 

Backon 1813 with -70dbm signal and a discussion between YL and OM mentioning 
alsoAntarctica my Spanish very poor. with the help of transcription , the 
programwas  identified as “voices to the  world”   calling from the ASI staff  
named Mario Rubensoria who  has some direct relation to the LRAGAT36 in 
thecommunications 
 thir signal has been also heard in twente, canaries kSDR Heby SWE  and NW 
Ireland!

with the same exactly  fluttercaused by  SNR as tested in various otherkSDRSs . 
instead on B de campo the flutter is not so strong Heard  ID sa R sarturno on 
1113 with numbers in full .Typical Musical program with songs 80s  InMbutuy 
PGY.   CNR is instead heard No other kSDR found to receiveSaturno

Via JakatrakSDR with finally Wai FM 1665   in // tothe live scream with -85dbm 
signal which is quite low I think . There is anlocal electricity noise afaik 
that suddenly stopped leving te signal in the clear! Spiritual song  while the 
live scream is in mono.. in contrastSarawak FM is in stereo .Didnt  someone 
know that   mono as“blackoke” are killing music? 

Back to theshortwaves  Wai is airing local S’waki  songs on -0715

2138) and a signal on -75 dbm in the Bandung song “ku mentara pagi," then a 
heavy mental song. in PHL with -65 dbm, Alessandro calling himself in wai FM 
before 2155, then Joget song on 2200z, and then with Kita [b]I programme for 
Catholics. mentioning many times, Kita [b]i. 
Kitabi is the Indonesian term for the sancted books of the Christian faith. 
On 6/4, I once again checked on the bands since 20z. The signal started at 
203630±15 sec with a signal of -80 dbm in PHL or -65 dbm in Bandung. Checked 
also on Perch AU with -65dbm 
On 7/4 via Jakarta with -73 but herd strong on 0639 with Christian religious 
programme told by male eaker, ended 0 0653 with description by YL “Tuhan Yesus” 
and followed by a Rohani song. 2x7 kZH wide. “Limbang FM” ID at 0658

radio's soft threshold problems, even with levels of 08/01. Mostly talks
11900 religious station with programme in a Hindic language with religious 
songcalling Jesus Christ as I-isu, then with a prayer in sermons on 1335. 
Reachbeyond Australia with Hindi noted on Eibi 18/10.

externalspeaker and listened  to Halei Zahal on1287  and time 1430 for more 
than 30 minuteswith dreaming like Hebrew music , most of them were ezl as like 
lullabies inmy  ears! Ended on 1455 when OM and YMstarted with poss news. 
Reception via TWR Cyprus Heard also the program viaradio Garden for less clear 
sound!! It also good for anyone to test Xinjiang stations online with thei 
distinctivemusic in the clear!

2×5-6kHz wide audio depending the person  I kept with some transcription s

The include two phone ins on the 1645-55 and the news on 17z
558  one of the many outlets from IRIB heard on 1710 well  with -70dbm , majy 
talks , Seem that also RNE is  heard that time and possibly a station in 
English (??) 1713  Persian pop music  also another with Koran sermons on 1714  
(Algerie )
585 Radio Riyadh 1716  with their typical Arabic belly dance songs  of the 70s 
//945  under Galei Zahal  I  stood out of my chair with the BT Headphones and 
danced!  1720 some applauds after the song  Clear ID Ida?t Adverts  and on

language on weather using British pronunciation (2×6 kHz wide). a funny song, 
‘What’s the weather?
15275-1603 in Amharic: -55 dbm, 26 SNR, as shown in the readout DW with ID 1611
15290 Kontayner 1604, 19.4 kHz wide and -75 shown signal Three was on 15260 but 
left the band on 1605?
15265 in Hindi >>AWR in Urdu noted on eibi
15445 program in Arabic with joyful talks off 1615
15480 and 490 with 490 left 1616 15480 with very low modulation and Arabic 
program -55dbm, 25db SNR >>IRIB Arabic. Sudden fadeouts to 30 dB down

11550 is 11510 with ½ sec ahead, 1631 with news, referring to several counties

English. The funny thing is that the upper side has higher modulation. -67dbm

-90dbm with their typical orchestral songs.

5985 Myanma radio 1355 is different from the 5915 with man, as like talking a 
poem with YL nxt to him doing the same but speaking quite fat! -65dbm
5975 BBC in Farsi 1358 with its typical IS with news -6sbm
6050/7240 speaker 1410+ with a long course on the Qing dynasty and the 
importance of maintaining a balance between happiness and sadness in life, then 
it continues with various pop and rock songs via Dimanpur KSR.

connection fell. Low-modulated with a trebly sound.

ON 1000z is again tuned with typical N Korean songs after the TOH and continues 
past 1030. I tested various kSDRs, with the best on Oita Japan at 0630 z with a 
-25 dbm signal, 35 RMS, and -65 dbm on 1024 z. Both sidebands have hums at 100, 
200, and 900 Hz. QRM from CNR effects reception also on LSB! No signal on 3320

quite noisy with Bye bye on 1057 with news program on 1100 ad YL talking I also

infecting the LSB part. BTW, language is not supported in the descriptor.

CostaKonstantinidis from  Cyprus was the firstto report the news via a Facebook 
group about Israel returning of Jan 1stto the MW frequency of 1287Khz   I was 
possibly the second person to hear it on2050z Here is my  report from my web 
page
1287  Galei Zahal ISR ~2050 in the clear with -75dbmin canaries   In TWR Cyprus 
the signal is local -45dbm   (link to the blog) 

The stationwas also heard on 2/1 at around 05xx with a signal of -45 on 1287. 

Mwlist.org listed945 with 100KW while 1287  was listed with50 Kw . IN TWR CY 
the signal was the same -45dbm on 2/1 on 05z in both frequencies1287 has 
sharper sond 

Later,around 10z, the signal strength decreased to -60 dbm 

As oftoday, 3/1, the signal strength is -70 dbm on 1318z in both frequencies.  
Nearly Same on levels on 1447

055x for about 30 minutesstarting at 06z. The music was a mix of Japanese and 
Western songs, with a fastpace. It was less humorous than yesterday's 
broadcast.  The signal strength was around -40dbm. 
At the same time, I also tuned in to Nikkei 1 on 6055, which had very longtalks 
and the same signal level.

with bursts similar to 4625 but faster  .

allSDRs  ther is some QRM from 1467 fromFrance and TWR 2144  Children

11645 VoK in Arabic  15+   reception is rather funny as it sounded  having 
ripples or even  a propelled sound of around 15-20HZ Good signal

news.

.InSiliguri the signal of Xizang on -60dbm kills this program. Program

noticed Nepali in between songs of the90s era of Bollywood There is some grid 
noise . the .8 kHZ  is SDrs error as checkedwith other stations 
11885 Xinjiang RTV station . This is the full ID for the Xinjiang PBS as 
heardin 10z. the station was clear until 10z when a pink noise started on ToH. 
Asnoted in eibi the only jammer is China Program in Uighur -57/95 with the 
pinknoise 
12085 Vo Mongolia 1011 with Chinese song and signal 1014 mans talking slowly 
-76/95in Korean on 1213 with -62 in PHL 
12095 FEBC in HMW (white Hmong ) language . the man is syllabizing what he 
isreading . religious talks 

6200 Xizang RTV 1022 with a Chinese like song , short discussions in Tibetan 
thenback to song or short music clip. I was thought to listen to Jinling but 
ittransmits on 12z Signal -64dbm with sedvral others (6130 6110)_with 
bettersignal inside the band . While I m waiting for Jinling ,1155 with 
semitraditional Tibetan songs and -65dbm signal via Siliguri which has 
bettersignal than Kathmndu. ‘Picuni sutatashi ‘ as ID on 12z starting with tent 
news.

6200 vis Yuseing Ju kSDR in Korea hearing Jinling on the clear at -86 dbm 
.InSiliguri the signal of Xizang on -60dbm kills this program. Program 
continueswith Chinese pop songs Look here the video

duet distant places .Funny that on 1258 Jimling aired a Greek song “siko 
horepse syrtaiki”

7340 Xijiang RTV in Kazakh 1243 with adverts. Most of them have 
musicalbackground ad this on 1245 is quite impressive tone. Kazakh is a 
beautiful languagethe nicest among the remain Turkic languages.

Here are a few logs the Americas as far as I remember after a sudden Word 
crash.I passed to these SDRs later to refresh my info.

A travel for our older transmission slot: R Trump was heard via Mountaintop 
kSDR on 0815 with -90dbm and 20minutes later via the Boca Raton with better S/N 
ratio at same signal level .There as a random time ID as R Trump (around 0820? )

Via same kSDr 4940 the unknown pirate relaying religious programs with 
goodsignal 

6180 with R N Amazonia with `sombrero' songs with -60dbm signal. There was anID 
, 1055 with someone signing and playing guitar an inspirational songwith  
spituall talks  in between and then singing the `Brazuguese'version of happy 
birthday for a Maria. Reception via Bernando de Campo kSDR(will noted as BDC 
below ) Off 1213 

R Sarturno on 0826 with various well known songs of 80s including Brother Luie, 
ID every two songs. Here is recording with the ID at the end .Next tune in1058 
with `take my breath away'. Still on 1213 24H? via BDC

Also R Inconfidencia on 6010 with -70dbm via BDC with songs and ID 

WMR on 6160 on 1105 with talks and old rock songs via Twente -63dbm Good 
audiobut strong QSB 

Europa24 (per eibi) or radio24 (as IDed) on 6150 with old French song 1115 
thenwell-known songs from the past Prop seem also not so good due to high 
fades.Signal -70 dbm with 30db range. 
The range is only 20db  onhttp://fsdr.duckdns.org/ with mean on -90dbm fades 
and increasing to 25 on1151z 

11665 Wai FM Iban with song Perjalanan 2 on 1244 and talks by OM. The signal 
inBangkok is less than 20 db higher than the noise. Good as always in PHL at 
-60and tested it with live stream from RTM. RTM has two different streams two 
copystreams for Iban and a second in Bidayuh

some Corrections?  Tiare vs Teak 

  Larry Van Horn is a well-known figure and expert  in the Dxing community, 
known for his extensive experience as a Dxer and publisher of specialized 
publications in the field. While I have not had the pleasure of meeting him in 
person as ilive in Grreece , Although i think that Tiare pubs was part of his 
older business  but i know that Teak pubs is his more recent business I 
purchased one of Gale's radio guides authored by his wife

I’ve been away for almost a week and a number of readers have written in to 
express their condolences after only recently learning that a legend in our 
radio world, Larry Van Horn, passed away in August after a short period of 
illness. 
I remember meeting Larry once when I stopped in unannounced at The Monitoring 
Times HQ in Brasstown, North Carolina. He was a true gentleman and shared his 
enthusiasm for the airwaves with me for a couple of hours. He was a passionate 
radio man through and through. 
Of course, our condolences and hearts go out to his wife Gayle Van Horn and 
son, Loyd Van Horn, both of whom are also prominent figures in our radio world.
