[HCDX] Loggings and other things

2009-01-02 Thread Bob Combs
This morning between 1500-1600 GMT I was listening to what I assume is Radio
Russia (Moscow transmitter) in Russianon 7270 KHz. I did not hear the
standard ID but can only assume it was their transmissions. Signal levels
were 55545 here into Central New Mexico. When their transmission left the
air (or they changed antenna loading for another direction) I heard VOA in
English coming in (34543). The last listing I had showed that as originating
from Germany, but not at that time. There were a couple of other stations in
the background, but not logable for content here.

I don't get on the SW bands as much as I should, maybe 2009 will change
this?

Anyway, Best of DX to all on the list and hope your 2009 brings you the rare
SW station you have been dearching for.

Bob,

It`s not clear at what time you heard the change from VOR to VOA, but VOR is
scheduled to change from Petropavlovsk/Kamchatkiy to Moscow site at 1500, and
VOA starts at 1500 via Thailand. 73, Glenn Hauser, OK

[HCDX] Loggings and other things.. Corrected

2009-01-02 Thread Bob Combs
January 2, 2009
It appears that what I was indeed logging this morning from 1500 GMT to 1615
GMT was NOT what I previously reported.
I was hearing Radio Liberty on 7270, as the ID Govorit Radio Svoboda was
heard at the end of the 1500-1600 transmission
block. At 1601 GMT I did hear a very reduced level English ID of Voice of
America (usual male announcer). It appears that the transmitter phasing was
shifted to a new target area at 1600 GMT, hense the loss of signal levels.

Sorry for my mis-information in the earlier post. I am not correct (I
think).

Re: [HCDX] Loggings and other things.. Corrected 7270

2009-01-02 Thread Glenn Hauser
There could have been a very recent change, but I don`t see any VOA scheduled
on 7270 at 1600; instead BBC in English via Singapore, following R. Liberty in
Russian via Thailand until 1600; see Aoki. 73, Glenn Hauser
