Cat6 is rated for more bandwidth (Mhz). The twists might be closer and the copper thicker, but other than that it's the same. If you purchase Cat6 cable and have terminators, you can make your own just the same as you would with 5/5e. Only difference is shielding and slightly thicker wire. All same tools wll work.
