Re: [hlcoders] [hlds_linux] Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer beta release

2015-09-09 Thread SM Sith Lord
Things look solid using the beta_test branch in Anarchy Arcade so far.  Should
we wait until it becomes the main branch before we push the update to users?
Thanks for the security fixes.

We hear you -- we are currently working on updates to the github repository to
provide headers/libs compatible with the SourceSDK beta_test branch, after
which we hope to promote both to the main/official release.

Unfortunately the 'upcoming' builds suffered from some ABI breakage that
wasn't resolved in a timely manner -- in an ideal world the beta_test branch
will function against builds from the current main release as well, but we have
only done limited testing so far.

The last beta branch for the 2013 SDK, named "upcoming", still hasn't
officially landed after however long its been (close to a year?).

Additionally, any code changes between "upcoming" and "beta_test" have
not yet been pushed to the source-sdk-2013 repository on GitHub, which
could cause further incompatibilities with mods.
