How do I download this and install it?

Please can (at least some of) you test this and send me feedback? Thanks in

You can just extract the binaries RAR, or run the installer in the setup
RAR. You can also compile it yourself if you want, but I can guarantee it
won't run off with your RCON password.

because I can only change cvars that you've allowed. And when I want to

They didn't teach us networking udp/tcp because it allows hacking.

Agreed. Unfortunately the fix for TF2 came... over a month ago?

It's just frustrating, for me and everyone else, to spend 45 minutes in a
campaign to get disconnected right before the finale tileset. I'd say it
happens about 25% of the time.

It's just frustrating, for me and everyone else, to spend 45 minutes in a

happens about 25% of the time.

Re: [hlds] [L4D] Disconnection on mapchange

2009-04-07 Thread turb0z
I agree with Robert... at least some indication that work is being done to
fix this would be nice. This or at least give us the ability to turn off
stats reporting without loading a mod.

You're right though, I was being generous with my percentage. I know others
have issues more than 25% of the time, but I have always played L4D on my
own dedicated box, so I'm sure that the lighter server load helps alleviate
SOME of the crashing (I can't confirm if server load exacerbates the
problem), but I digress...

Let's see if Valve confirms if they are working on it; that'd make many of
us very happy to have at least an acknowledgement.

Joel and Chad: All the criteria for the assessment was to create a program
which would benefit the community. A common idea was blackjack, which
several students are doing. And yes, we often just play CS1.6/Halo. I learnt
TCP/UDP from Google.

MONDO: Some suggestions for features would be great. One thing I have which
HLSW does not, is changing of CVARs which don't have FVCAR_REPLICATED set.
I'm going to add controlling integer-based CVARs soon, as opposed to just
Boolean-based CVARs.

Jarno: It gets the maplist by executing the command maps *. What does that

Chad: I'll look at the theme and see what can be done with regards to the
download link.

What does that
show on your server console?

Re: [hlds] BluOrb Beta - please help with assignment

2009-04-07 Thread Yaakov Smith
I had a web-based one about 60% complete, but I couldn't get it to run on
the server, and I couldn't mess with the settings because a friend of mine
is hosting it on my behalf. I'm not sure if I still have all the PHP
scripts.

If this was coded in webpage format, I think it would be a very useful tool
for the community! Web based rcon scripts are very limited these days.

2009-04-07 Thread Tony Paloma
I use the CVAR and get periodic crashes (twice weekly, maybe?), but I don't
think they are related. Was it in Linux? If so, try a backtrace on the core
file.
