Re: [hlds] [TF2] Spectate/Teamkill exploit

2009-02-08 Thread Andreas Grimm
Hi,

I wrote a small SourceMod plugin to fix that exploit on my servers.
It's not the very best solution, but it works well without removing fast
respawn (respawn times sucks :).

My servers are running fine since I installed that plugin.

Re: [hlds] [TF2] Spectate/Teamkill exploit

2009-02-08 Thread tgnwells
The cvar has nothing to do with anything. If you have a plugin that
instantly respawns players on death, then your server is vulnerable to
this exploit. Otherwise you're fine.
If you have mp_disable_respawn_times set to 1, then you still have to
wait for the freezecam, and then wait a few more seconds after that
until you respawn. It doesn't really disable respawn times, just
shortens them to ~5 seconds. That's why if you use that instead of a
plugin, this exploit won't work.

Set a force respawn to 1 second or 5 seconds. Both or so fast that there is
really no difference.

There was a thread about this not two days ago guys.
 To quote myself then:

 It's not a TF2 exploit, it's that retarded forcerespawn plugin. It's logic
doesn't take invalid teams into account so it will forcespawn you even if
you're on team 0, resulting in a really hilariously buggy player.
