If anyone wishes to, you can record your outros using this text.
 http://hackerpublicradio.org/media/theme-music/hpr-outro-text.txt

You can record it without music, use your own HPR inspired music or pick
 some from here:
 http://hackerpublicradio.org/media/theme-music/

Once recorded upload the files to the ftp server and with a text file of
the same name with some credit details.

Please download the Into and Outro from this page for your future shows.
New submissions for Outros will be added here as we get them.

There will be a weeks delay in processing show until I get the backend
sorted.

 Hi All,

There seems to be a misunderstanding as to what is changing and what is
been asked here so let me clarify it.

 What is changing:
 ---
 1. The sponsor message will no longer be in the outro, but will be added
as a pre-roll. Note that this will be tailored for the provider hosting
the files. AnHonestHost.com sponsor message on the shows hosted by
AnHonestHost.com. IE: mp3, ogg, spx. and a Archive.org message for files
hosted there. This was discussed the last time we moved our provider so
please fork discussions (if any) on this topic to another thread.

 2. A text to speech intro message about the episode will also be added
 as a pre roll {PLEASE PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON THIS THREAD}

 3. The HPR intro music will remain the same, but can be edited for
length. This was discussed the last time we moved our provider so please
fork discussions (if any) on this topic to another thread.

 What may be changing:
 ---
 1. The text of the outro to remove, modify, or include information on
 {PLEASE PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON THIS THREAD}

 What is not changing:
 ---
 1. The sponsor message, now a pre-roll, will continue to be (written
and) approved by the sponsor. Please fork discussions (if any) on this
 topic to another thread.

 2. HPR Contributors will continue to provide shows of interest to
hackers. If those include shows that have criticisms of our sponsors
then those are valid shows. This is a founding principle of HPR so
please fork discussions (if any) on this topic to another thread.

 3. The text of the outro will be agreed by the community and will
continue to be posted on the web site.
 http://hackerpublicradio.org/media/theme-music/hpr-outro-text.txt. This
was done the last time we moved our provider so please fork discussions
(if any) on this topic to another thread.

 4. Anyone is free to record their own version of the Outro provided the
agreed text is included word for word. Hosts can pick any music they
wish or mix their own but it should be inspired by the HPR intro
theme. This was also discussed at length the last time we moved our
provider so please fork discussions (if any) on this topic to another
thread. Simply record it, upload it to the ftp server, and send an email
to the admin @ hpr and it will get added to
 http://hackerpublicradio.org/media/theme-music/

 What will be happening now.
 ---
 1. Josh will approve the proposed text - off list.

 2. Josh will provide a date for when we move to his company hosting -
 off list.

 3. The community will approve or reject the idea of a text to speech
 pre-roll on this thread.

 4. The community will propose/discuss the changes to the text of the
 outro on this thread.

What will be happening after these steps.
 ---
 1. The community will submit new outro.flac files. In the short term I
will be asking my wife to again do the first of these.

 2. The source file for shows released after the move to AnHonestHost.com
will be edited by me to replace the outro.

 3. These shows will be re-encoded with the appropriate sponsor message
in the provider hosting the file. You do not need to resubmit shows,
doing so will cause us more work tracking

Seems like a good idea to have it as an option. The last time we
discussed this it wasn't possible because we had no way of knowing what
date an episode number would be picked. So if you intend to do the show
summary pre roll yourself, then you will need to reserve a slot first.
That way you know you won't have to go back and edit it if someone
submits a show in the same slot before you upload. We will also need to
edit the template.

Would we be expected to keep to the show summary pre roll format
though or are people allowed to free form as long as all the information

company within the intro.

As long as everyone who keeps the lights on with $$$ and services is satisfied

I just ask that they do mention AnHonestHost, positively. Mentioning the

I would love to hear feedback from the community about what we are offering

To be clear a recording from many people that we combine into one intro and
outro is great. I'm thinking like the real world on MTV. But it really
needs to be the same one consistently. We need regularity. We can't risk
people recording full intros themselves for just their episodes because
inevitably people will leave things off or make mistakes.
I will try to record mine next week. Did we ever finalize a script or should

confused about something that they think is right. And then there is
the cursing possibilities. While at times I can let loose a sting of
curses that will make a sailor blush, I try really hard not to do it
when I am talking about my company. With that said, here are the
guidelines I ask for when you record your bit about us.

* Please only mention promotions you see here :
https://anhonesthost.com/promotions

* Please refrain from swearing when talking about how awesome AnHH is.
* If you are unsure about something about AnHH, ask me. We have a lot
of stuff that makes us better than the other hosting companies.

Some examples of that information:

Also if anyone is wanting to give a go on the platform first had, I
can get some shared accounts hooked up for a month trial.

My own advice on this is to record one official one that gets it right.
We are all used to using the one Ken gives us, why change now and run
these risks?

Hi All,

There seems to be a misunderstanding as to what is changing and what is
been asked here so let me clarify it.

What is changing:
- ---

2. A text to speech intro message about the episode will also be added
as a pre roll {PLEASE PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON THIS THREAD}

3. The HPR intro music will remain the same, but can be edited for
length. This was discussed the last time we moved our provider so please
fork discussions (if any) on this topic to another thread.

What may be changing:
- ---
1. The text of the outro to remove, modify, or include information on
{PLEASE PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON THIS THREAD}

What is not changing:
- ---

- ---

- ---

You do not need to resubmit shows,
doing so will cause us more work tracking it.

4. An email will be sent out with a link to the new outro.

5. The back end will be modified to support the addition of the sponsor
message, and the show summary.

6. The links to the outro will present various options.

What you need to do.
- ---
1. Record shows and include one of the new outros.

What you may do.
- ---
1. Support our sponsors

2. Get new people involved in the community

I quite like the new intro, and the idea that it comes at the head of

just busy, I'm OK with that part of the proposal, too.

If I am feeling like an uncharitable troll on a given day, I

Cool. In fact the idea was that we would have as many people as possible
record the text for the ourto so that it would reflect the fact that
this is a community podcast network. That way the hosts can pick which
ever one they like.

But the first step is to agree on the text.

Is there anything that should be removed ?
Is there anything that should be added (Mail list, Comments, etc) ?
