Bummer. I long found it irritating, inconsistent, and silly that whereas
entering Browse, Edit, or View as a line command before a PO data set
in a list causes display of a member list with the specified command as
the default, doing likewise on a UNIX directory issues an error message
rather than displaying a member list.

I surmise, since you mentioned the exception, that:
o you considered it
o you found it impractical.

Gil,

When I passed ANYTHING other than a member name to BROWSE, EDIT, VIEW,
it came back with "Invalid member name". I suppose I could create my
own hacked up versions of BROWSE, EDIT, VIEW, that would allow other
than a member name, but I'm limiting myself to things that I can do via
panels, execs, etc., without subverting ISPF itself. Unfotunately,
we'll probably be waiting a long time (and probably forever) for IBM to
enhance ISPF itself. That's why I'm trying to deliver as much
functionality as possible with clean usermods.

Re: Source of green zebra paper

2019-02-24 Thread Timothy Sipples
You could check directly with the paper manufacturers if you haven't
already. Q-Connect, headquartered in Belgium, seems to be one of the
biggest OEM suppliers of "listing paper" in the United Kingdom. Here's
their main Web site:

https://www.q-connect.com

and the Web site provides their head office contact details. Challenge and
5 Star Office are other brands. 5 Star Office might be this one:

https://www.5stareasyofficesupplies.co.uk

Challenge I'm having trouble finding.

You could also ask whether a custom order is possible. That looks like an
unusual size. I don't remember ever seeing 8.5x15, but anything is
possible. 11x15 (11x14 with teardown) I could believe. There's also an
8.5x14 "U.S. Legal" size paper that might have been a teardown size in
continuous feed/fanfold/listing paper form. Some car rental contract paper
seems to be that size, still. Paper manufacturers can still do pretty much
anything, though, if you navigate back far enough in the supply chain.

Did you look at the online and instructor-led courses that are listed,
along with cities and dates, at the Web site I provided? All that
information is available online, and it's quite detailed. If a particular
class or provider is not proceeding with a course, then just go to the next
most convenient on the list. Here are the steps to find this information:

1. Go to https://www.ibm.com/services/learning

2. Click on "Find Learning."

3. In the search box type in your search term, for example:

CICS administration

and press Enter.

4. You'll see a list of course codes and titles. You can filter this list
in various ways by clicking on the checkboxes, for example the
"Instructor-led" checkbox if you want a formal class. Course code WM816G is
one of the CICS administration courses, for example. Let's look at that, so
click on that course (on the title).

5. In the page that appears, scroll down to see the list of upcoming
sessions. For example, there's an online/virtual edition of that course
beginning on March 25, 2019, which you can take from practically anywhere.
Click on the Start Date header to sort by date. I see (for example) a
classroom/in-person edition of that course also beginning on March 25,
2019, in Bangalore, India. For any course offering you're interested in
attending, click on the plus symbol (green circle), and you should see an
Enroll link. Click on that link. Let me try that now for the WM816G course
starting on March 25, 2019, in Bangalore

6. Yes, that takes me to another IBM page with a referral link, and then
when I click on that link I'm directed to the course provider's Web site
with details on the specific class offering, class fee information, and
their contact details for enrollment. It all works.

If you're still having trouble, please post a follow-up, but you received
lots of excellent pointers already, including this one. I hope it helps.

I'm delighted with this one; it eliminates a PITA.

I've long considered it a bug that when I specify:
HLQ.**.CSI
and request no additional qualifiers, it nonetheless displays the DATA and INDEX
components. Experts tell me this must be WAD. I don't understand.

Since they are not managed by ACS and you apparently did not specify a
storclas, it would be much more surprising if they ended up on an SMS volume
instead of a non-SMS one. This is how things work when SMS is not a factor in

We had them at an insurance company I worked at in the past. We dropped

recall, it was a gener like tool that took care of some of the allocation

Has anyone ever seen/hear about a set of programs called
SUPERCOP/SUPCOP1/SUPCOP2/SUPCOP3. We ran into an issue with these programs
related to EAV volumes. It seems we acquired these programs as part of a
merger many years ago. No one seems to have any idea where the source could
be. From what we can tell these may have been some freeware programs, but
can't say for 100%. We searched the CBT website and did some Google
searches but could not find anything to help us.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone that happens to know about
these programs and has source.

As a side note with the use of the ASMDASM program and some detective work
we determined what was causing the issue and was able to ZAP the program
SUPCOP1 to fix the issue. It would be nice to have source for any future
issues.

Thanks..
