RE: [IMail Forum] How to forward entire mailbox
What we do is rename and move the box into the mail folder whome needs access to it. Then they connect through web messaging and sort the mail. It will show up in web messaging as another mail folder with the new name. [IMail Forum] How to forward entire mailbox
We have a couple of cases where we need to forward an entire mailbox. The usual scenario is that a client loses an employee. The employee's mailbox continues to collect mail until it's full. Then somebody notices, and we setup automatic forwarding. In the meanwhile, there are all those messages sitting in that full mailbox. We need an easy way to foward an entire mailbox to a different mail address (usually in the same domain name). One possibility is to rename the main file and then copy it over to the folder for the new address. However, that seems pretty crude and really only works if they're using IMAP. We're using IMail 7.15. Any ideas? RE: [IMail Forum] Imap and Verizon servers for those that are connecting PDAs.
I have a similar problem. Treo 650 through Sprint using VersaMail, but we connect directly via POP to our IMail server. IMAP never worked at all for us. But after deleting on the Treo it wouldn't delete from our server and the next time you went to get new messages that same msg would pop back up. I'm sure you already went through the settings on the device and told it to also delete from the server? The only solution I've found is to delete the VersaMail account, and recreate it on the device. The only problem with this is that I have to do it once every week or two. The bigger issue is that its the CEOs Treo Sprint says that because we're not connecting to a Sprint server they can't do anythinga bout it. Palm wont support any devices on the Sprint network, and I've ran every update and upgrade on the device possible. But its the only solution to our problem and we're kind of stuck. Re: [IMail Forum] White List versus Black List
What version of IMail? In version 8.1x the whitelist is processed first (actually second if you count the connection tests). You could always add a user email to the whitelist to have it bypass the filters (other than the connection filter) At 08:35 AM 9/19/2005, you wrote: I have a question about the order in which white/black lists are processed. I received an email from the owner of the company for which I work for telling me that one of his emails were spam'd out of his email and he wanted it back. While going through the list of white/black lists I found that the domain that he did mention was in the black list, but also in the white list. The email was black listed even though the same domain name was in the white list. Is there a way to get IMail to read White Lists before the email gets black listed? Even better is there a way to have particular users go around the spam filters and have their emails spam and all just get delivered to the user? Hi, I got a strange problem today. I have not set any content filter setting to delete any mail and am just adding a x-header and prefixing the subject body with spam. Today morning one of the email messages got deleted and I could not think abt anything. This alarmed me and I had to contact the ipswitch support. I was told to disable all the spam settings, start stop service and reapply the settings (I sent them the log files). I cannot imagine why this problem occurred in the first place. I am using version 8.2 with all the hotfixes applied. All Ipswitch told me was in the distant past(months ago..with services started and stopped countless times after that) maybe the setting were set to delete and that was the reason this message got deleted. This has caused me great concern Anybody knows a better reason? [IMail Forum] Imap and Verizon servers for those that are connecting PDAs.
I'm running into a bit of an issue trying to get imap and wirelesssync.vzw.com to sync deleted items. >From my understanding of this imail imap server > sync to verizon via imap > then sync to PDA..that all work fine for getting email sto the PDA. When I delete an email on the PDA it syncs to the verizon website. That works fine. I seem to be having trouble with the connection back to the imail server and it syncing there. Delete from pda > delete form verizon server > broken deleting from imail server. Ifanyone has ever ran into any of this before please let me know. I have about 10 days left on eval of this device to make sure it will work for what we would like for it to... [IMail Forum] White List versus Black List
I have a question about the order in which white/black lists are processed. Re: [IMail Forum] local delivery filter
Still looking for an answer to this. Anyone know how to 'allow' deliveries when they originate locally in the filter? At 9/9/2005 10:55 PM, you wrote: How do I setup delivery rules to affect local delivery? That is, when a message is created and delivered within the same domain or between domains that are hosted on the same server, how can I isolate that fact with delivery rules? There's nothing in the message or the headers that will identify that fact. Although a person can read the delivery route to figure it out, that function is beyond the strength of the delivery rules. Specifically, I want to prevent delivery of a message unless it has a specific header or is created locally. I can easily find the one header, but not that second aspect.
