Re: [Imports] Importing tags for buildings
Hi Raymond, You can restrict the amount of data if you only download the required ways: http://api.openstreetmap.org/api/0.6/ways?ways=261408697,2027616672,20158063352,20158063353 etc For large datasets you might consider using a mirror of osm and/or download in batches. The round.py script here modifies an existing tag instead of adding tags, but it shows the general idea: https://github.com/maxerickson/osm-round-austin Max ___ Imports mailing list Imports@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/imports ___ Imports mailing list Imports@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/imports ___ Imports mailing list Imports@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/imports

Thank you for your comments. This is very helpful. These razed/abandoned tracks have been in OSM for many years now in Norway but so far with no objections. Will keep this in mind. I believe no new razed tracks will be introduced with the import. The existing razed/abandoned tracks belong to relations for historic railways and are used for the live OSM maps in Wikipedia. Example: https://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treungenbanen > If the name tag of a railway line is just the concatenation of two > station/place names, it shouldn't be added. name=* is reserved for real > names and some features don't have names. > I believe all names are real, typically "Bergensbanen" and similar. Re: [Imports] Railway import - Norway
Hi, I have not reviewed the whole import yet but here are some things I found: Am 2018-03-07 um 13:18 schrieb NKA mapper: > Here is an import plan for railways in Norway based on a dataset from the > public railway infrastructure company, BaneNOR. The same applies to disused, abandoned and razed tracks. Your import page mentions railway=razed. Are you aware that some community members think that overbuilt railway lines shouldn't be mapped in OSM? If the name tag of a railway line is just the concatenation of two station/place names, it shouldn't be added. name=* is reserved for real names and some features don't have names. Examples for some German names which aren't real names from my point of view: Hannover–Celle DB Wanne-Eickel–Hamburg But the following German names are names which should be added: Linke Rheinstrecke [Left Rhine Railway Line] Schwarzwaldbahn [Black Forest Line] Berlin-Hamburger-Bahn [Berlin–Hamburg Line] Schnellfahrstrecke Hannover–Würzburg [High Speed Line Hannover–Würzburg] Lehrter Bahn [literally "line to Lehrte"] > The railway lines are already in OSM, so this is a dataset which makes is > possible to improve the topology of the lines in OSM where needed. > > The dataset also makes available many stop positions, crossovers and > historic stations which are not currently in OSM.
