Many of the 'About' pages really should be on the main website anyway.
I figure we can post board documents here for now.

I see:

Publicity: Website
User Documentation: Website
User Community: Website / #inkscape / sf-mailing list
Administration: Website / wiki / sf-mailing list
Development: Wiki / launchpad / sourceforge / #inkscape-devel /
sf-mailing list

We've got a lot of both duplication and disjointed parts. I'm hoping we
can remove the need for sourceforge for example. Moving downloads and
mailing lists to the website server (if we can get the right tech in
place) but as for the wiki / website split for administration, I'm not
sure.

I'd keep the data off the website if we think it might get in the way of
publicity or user documentation. Same reason I don't mind the developer
docs being off the website, because that sort of multi-use website needs
careful design/planning if we ever wanted to do it seriously.

Re: [Inkscape-board] LGM Reimbursements and the SFC travel policy

2014-06-23 Thread Bryce Harrington
Is there a place we could post this where it wouldn't be forgotten next
time?

I'll take the blame for this episode; they notified me of the policy
some time back last year, and frankly I simply forgot about it until
now. Tav, I'm sorry this caused frustration for you. In the future, if
we have a place to post policies where everyone knows to look, I'll make
sure they get there when I get them.

  Hi,

We received some flack over the reimbursement requests I submitted for
LGM. We violated the travel policy several places. Here are some points
to keep in mind for future travel:

  1. Airplane tickets must be purchased 14 days in advance unless
permission is obtained in advance from SFC.

  2. A screen capture showing the airplane ticket search must be
submitted. This is to document that the ticket purchased is within $100
  of the lowest available fare.

  3. Do not submit food receipts, currency exchange fees, etc. Instead
  request a per-diem.

  4. Currency exchange rates are determined by the Bank of Canada
website.[1] SFC will do the conversions.

  5. You must state what currency you want to be reimbursed in, even for a
PayPal account. (That was not clear in the policy.)

I've attached a copy of the travel policy for future reference (it
doesn't seem to be on the SFC website). Anyone traveling at Inkscape's
expense should read the policy carefully!
