Re: [IRCA] BC TAs
Quite a number of interesting carriers (918 for example) earlier this evening here in unexpectedly snowy Victoria , but the only audio heard with on and off monitoring has been tastes of music and woman talking on 963 just after 0500UT. By 0515UT, the Asiatic Russian on 234 was making itself heard, and I'm pretty sure that the good carrier on 1287 is JOHR, still quite a way from local sunset there, but 1269 with slightest audio traces seems to be European. best wishes, Nick At 01:11 11-01-13, you wrote: The regular (though I don't really like to use that term - any TA is a treat!) Hi Nick and Nigel, A weak carrier is also here on 1377 kHz (on just the modified ICF-2010, no loops) but 1215 kHz shows nothing. 1377 produced weak French here on occasion, last season (on the 9' PVC box loop), but 1215 has always been a non-performer at this location. 73, Gary In a message dated 9/10/2010 10:04:31 P.M. I just returned home from being out for the evening, and all the TA action must be gone. I don't find any hets or 9 kHz signals at 0555 except a presumed Tahiti on 738. Re: [IRCA] BC TAs (and AB)
Work had me away for a few days and I just got back half an hour ago. After that fabulous evening on Saturday I really didn't expect things to be still hopping tonight, but indeed they are.Hate to think what I missed while I was away! Tonight isn't up to Saturday's standard, but certainly interesting. Highlights I've found thus far: 1548 - Voice of Russia in English from Moldova, and pretty consistent over the last 20 minutes 1269 - Germany, with a very clear signal 1089 - Russian rather than the usual UK 1044 - man/woman talking 954 - man speaking, but too weak to determine language 963 - audio for a few minutes 864 - usually France, but sounds more like Egypt at the moment 855 - Spain and someone else 819 - man speaking over musical background. Likely Egypt again (a phrase I never expected to be typing!) 711 - France Interestingly 1215 isn't doing much, weakish audio at best. 73, Nigel Pimblett Dunmore, Alberta Nick Hall-Patch wrote: Nothing really strong, but pretty interesting, as several have weak audio at 0250UT. 1215 and 1134 of course, but 819 sounded vaguely Arabic (man chanting, then stringed music? no // on 12050 from here), and 864 may have had a FF inflection to the man's voice, but really too weak to tell. 702 and 855 had good carriers. [IRCA] BC TAs .... from the Netherlands
Think that I've dug out a couple of Dutch stations, R. 5 on 747 (there right now w/woman talking about 15 seconds ahead of the webstream, then man on the hour), and R. Maria on 675 a little earlier w/organ mx and vocals, though really hard to relate to the webstream. Both of these had poor signals at best in the splatter. Re: [IRCA] BC TAs .... from the Netherlands
Thanks for the tip Nick, finally managed to match up the web stream with 747 here also.A bit earlier managed to do the same with the Czech station on 954.Still a few signals around, including Arabic music on 981 (Algeria?). The UK station on 1089 at times is at the best level I ever remember hearing it.Certainly another exceptional evening. 73, Nigel Nick Hall-Patch wrote: Think that I've dug out a couple of Dutch stations, R. 5 on 747 (there right now w/woman talking about 15 seconds ahead of the webstream, then man on the hour), and R.
