Try running msconfig and unchecking anything you don't want to start up, or
hold down the left shift key when you hear the windows startup sound.

Why don't you go to the web site for this group and follow all
 those steps
for windows maintance offered by Denny Huff in the order given, I
 really
think you will notice a big difference in your over all performance
 of your
 computer, I sure have..

Especially the check disk and the scan disk and I know for a fact
 that it
fixed some porblems I was having overhere in a couple of
 things..Openbook
and a pop up pertaining to programs updates for Sonicand no way no
 how could
I get rid of that screen before..

His steps are so straightforward so easy to do and worked exactly
 as he says
 it does..

[JAWS-Users] Re: TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT

2007-03-31 Thread Denny Huff
Try this.
Close all of your running applications. Including OE, any instant messaging
programs, everything except Jaws.
Do a windows key r for run.
Type in, %temp%
Note the percent before and after temp.
After you have it typed in, press enter.
This should bring up a list of temp files you have.
Do a shift delete and say, yes to are you sure you want to delete.
After all are deleted, do an alt f4 to close.
And one more thing, open OE.
Do an alt t for tools, then an o for options.
In the general tab, tab to, automatically log on to windows messenger and
uncheck it. I know you don't use it, but make sure it is unchecked anyway.
Tab to OK and press enter.
That is about all of the help I can give you on this without having you
uninstall OE and reinstall it.
Good luck.
Denny

[JAWS-Users] Re: TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT

2007-03-31 Thread Denny Huff
>From your previous posts, I thought you were getting this message when you
were trying to compact folders in OE.
So when does this message come up? When you start your computer?
And the message is what? OE is being used by another program?

There's through alt F, then folders, then compact all folders. Or

Usually when it's time OE will tell you it needs to do it and ask

Try running msconfig and unchecking anything you don't want to start up, or
hold down the left shift key when you hear the windows startup sound.

[JAWS-Users] Re: Problem with DecTalk USB

2007-03-31 Thread David A Ferrin

If you wouldn't mind, please post your original question along with the
answer you received from that other list. Send it to me privately if you
wish. This sounds like information that should be preserved for future
reference. I use a DEC talk, but it's an older model that runs on a serial
port myself. Obviously this means I have very limited information on the
more newer models.

[JAWS-Users] Mozilla Thunderbird

2007-03-31 Thread carlene knight

 Hi:

Does anybody use Mozilla Thunderbird? I've got some issues such as,
when I'm typing an email, and have more than one paragraph, the JAWS
curser doesn't follow the pc one at all, and when I try to read what
I've written, I have all kinds of things repeated, particularly the last
line of each paragraph. Also, when I read an email, it always says what
sounds like x western or x unicode, I'm assuming that depends on the
window type used for that particular message, but how do you stop that?
I've turned the graphics off every which way I can think of. JAWS won't
read most of the panes, though I really don't need them, but why? I
like the program, and the security is better than Outlook and OE, but if
I could get some of these issues taken care of, it would be much nicer.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Carlene

[JAWS-Users] Re: Problem with DecTalk USB

2007-03-31 Thread Arianna Calesso

Well, David, since I didn't get an answer from our usually wonderful JAWS
list I sent my question to a friend in england who submitted it to the UK
JAWS list. I received two answers that were very helpful and with the
knowledge I have and the guidance from the UK, I have DecTalk USB working
again.

Thank you, though, for taking the time to answer my email. That means a lot

Probably an easy way to get there would be by going to programs jaws sub

Thanks for your reply.
Is there any scripts for the programme?, or power DVD is compatible with
jaws without anyscripts?.
Can you please give me the short cut keys for the same programme?.
With regards.
