John, take a minute and fill out the form listed on the bottom of every
message. The idea is for any and or all members who wish to contact a
manager be able to do that using the form provided. This way the list
doesn't get cluttered with stuff that shouldn't be posted on here. It's
never caught on very much yet I'm sorry to say, thanks.

By which I mean, at the end of all of the reply messages which may have been
included in the sent along in one piece message. Now, go to the bottm and
up arrow until you read text. I've deleted replies to past messages (in

[JAWS-Users] Unable to access a website.

2007-04-22 Thread Debbie G
Hi all,

Every time I attempt to access a certain website, I get a message saying,
Windows has blocked this software because the publisher can't be verified.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Someone from the company I work for sent me Microsoft VM, so I'm set with that,
but I ran into this problem.

Any help is appreciated.

[JAWS-Users] Re: AVG saying attachment

2007-04-22 Thread Flor Lynch

better ask AVG support about that, or pay for it. (They don't offer tech
support for the free version, so they have to fund it anyway.)

It appears that you need to uncheck the incoming and outgoing Certify mail
checkboxes. To turn off this annoying AVG Free option, perform the
following
  steps:

  1. Open AVG, tab once to the control center button and hit space bar.

  2. Use alt plus V to open the view menu and down arrow to the components
submenu icon and then hit enter.

  3. Down arrow to the email scanner icon and then hit enter.

  4. Tab to the configure button and then hit enter.

  5. Tab to and uncheck the two Certify mail checkboxes.

  6. Now tab to the OK button and enter and then tab to the next Ok button
and enter. This should have eliminated the problem and you now can close AVG
  Free with alt plus F4.

Rick,

Checked the tips tricks and there are only two things under the AVG
heading , neither of which addressed this issue.

Here is what it does. When I'm in the general outlook windo and scroll down
through my mail it says attachment for each message. I know some other
folks here have had this issue in the past and someone did come up with a
way to fix it. Since I was not having problems at that time I did not pay
too close attention to it.

[JAWS-Users] Re: Jaws problem with stand by mode

2007-04-22 Thread Victor Gouveia
Hi Lisa,

As far as I know, Jaws doesn't have any problems coming back from a stand by
mode.

Having said that, though, I know there have been issues of Jaws not coming back
from hibernation mode.

You can shut these modes off by going into your control panel, then pressing P
for Power Options.

Once in the power options dialog box, arrow up or down to highlight always on.

Once you've done that, you can find tune the always on power settings, by
tabbing down and setting the time for each part of the always on mode.

For example, you can tell your computer to shut off the monitor after a certain
amount of time, and you can also tell the computer to shut off hard disks after
a certain amount of time with no activity.

The one you should be concerned with is the stand by time settings. Once you
get to the combo box, just arrow down to the option that says, Never, and
this will disable it.

If you continue to tab down, and find that your computer comes to another combo
box that says System Hibernate After, then you should disable hibernation
mode by pressing the control+tab key combination, and going to the hibernate
tab of this dialog box.

When you get there, uncheck the box that says, Enable hibernation and this
will turn off that feature.

At this point, just tab to apply, then to ok, and your computer will not go
into stand by or hibernation mode again, unless, that is, you tell it to.

Hope this helps.

Victor

[JAWS-Users] Re: Jaws problem with stand by mode

2007-04-22 Thread carlene knight

Hi:

I had a similar problem, and had to use the blank screen saver.
Sometimes JAWS would do other strange things, and it was all resolved by
using the blank screen saver. Hope this helps. Lisa wrote:
 Hello everyone,
When my computer goes into stand by either because I have left it too
long, or I put it on stand by everything is fine until I bring it back
up. Jaws works fine when it goes into stand by, but when I bring it
back up from stand by jaws doesn't speack. I can't do anything with
out speech, so I hit the button on my computer to shut it down, so I
can reboot. When the computer is shutting down jaws will start to
speak. I don't understand why jaws will work fine until the computer
goes into stand by mode. Once the computer comes out of stand by, no
jaws. Does anyone know if there may be some settings I need to check,
or how I can fix this problem? I have windows XP home, and I am
running jaws 6. Any help with this would be very much appreciated!
 Take care,

Are you by chance useing the Windows firewall?
Secondly, what is the website address?
