[JAWS-Users] Re: Deleting from the System tray
Hello, Patti; first? if your going to remove a program from your computer, you want to have the program closed, otherwards, not running. now, I am not familiar with the program in question, however, if you did a reinstall, first, go to the systemtray, and see if you can't close the program first before going through the uninstall process. first look for a program uninstall.exe file, if there's no uninstall.exe file, then? you will need to navigate to the control panel, and go to the add slash remove. - Original Message - From: Patti To: jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com Sent: Monday, December 04, 2006 4:26 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Deleting from the System tray Hey Gang, I downloaded I daily diary, and then I deleted it, but it is still in my system tray. How do I deleted from there? I did a insert f11 and tried to delete it from there, but it didn't work. It is no where on my computer, but in the system tray. I'm running jaws 7 and XP home. Did you reboot your system after you removed the program? Also, how did you remove it--I hope you used the Add and Remove Programs item in the Control Panel or the program's own uninstaller because if you just deleted the program's folder, that not only doesn't work, but it can leave your system really screwed up. - Original Message - From: Patti [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com Sent: Monday, December 04, 2006 4:26 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Deleting from the System tray Hey Gang, I downloaded I daily diary, and then I deleted it, but it is still in my system tray. Patti - No, that's the way it should be done. Did you restart your computer after removing it? If so, I haven't a solitary clue as to why it would continue to show up. - Original Message - From: Patti [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com Sent: Monday, December 04, 2006 5:04 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: Deleting from the System tray I think I went into the programs and into I daily diary submenu and it had a choice to remove it and I press that. [JAWS-Users] Re: Deleting from the System tray
YOu migh talso want to try reinstalling the program and then uninstalling it to see if that helps. Patti - Okay, that _sounds_ like the uninstall routine didn't do a clean job. What happens if you press ENTER on it in the System Tray; that is, highlight it in your System Tray and then press ENTER? Also, if you open the Windows Task Manager with CTRL+SHIFT+ESC, does the program show up in the list of running tasks on the Applications page of that dialog? - Original Message - From: Patti [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com Sent: Monday, December 04, 2006 5:43 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: Deleting from the System tray I don't remember if I did at that time, but my computer has been rebooted since then. [JAWS-Users] Re: Deleting from the System tray
Patti - This is truly bizarre. Well, all I can tell you for sure is that the uninstall routine didn't work at all if the program comes up when you click on it from the System Tray. I'm entirely out of ideas except to suggest that you try using the Add and Remove Software selection from the Control Panel instead of the application's own built-in uninstaller. - Original Message - From: Patti [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com Sent: Monday, December 04, 2006 7:39 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: Deleting from the System tray Hey Walt, When I press enter on IDailyDiary it opens up.
