Brian, I use iTunes all of the time now. I haven't used any other software for creating disks or downloading songs from the Internet in almost a year. Once you get used to it, it really does work well. There's even a book out there which describes how to use it. The more recent versions of iTunes work even better than the old ones do. A lot will depend on which version of Jaws you're using. [JAWS-Users] CCleaner & Google
Hi All; I am running a program by FileHippo called update checker. Are others on the list familiar with this program? When I get my update results and I update CCleaner, I am getting the Google toolbar Or Google Chrome installed without any warnings. Has anyone else running this program noticed this happening? Like I say, there are no boxes to check or uncheck or anything. The Google stuff just gets installed. Well, I was just wondering if anybody else has noticed this and if anyone had any ideas on how to stop the Google stuff from being installed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Take care. Re: [JAWS-Users] audio cue with windows media player 12.0.7600
Lenny, I am running jaws 12 with windows 7 on a 64 bit machine, and I use WIMP 12 to burn CD's all the time. Here's what I do. There are probably better ways, but here is what I do. So you rip the files from the original CD to wherever you keep them on your computer. Next, I give the folder those particular files in a name, like the name of the CD. Next, I send that folder to my CD Drive, wherever yours is on your computer. The minute I do that, it asks me to put a blank disk into my computer, so I do that. then, it asks me what type of disk I want to burn, data or for a regular CD player. So I choose what I want. then it asks me to title the disk, so I do. then it says next, and since I have chosen WIMP 12 to be my default player in terms of burning disks, WIMP 12 comes up. then, if you tab over to you hear library button, you will hear, Start burn button. So hit your space bar, and the CD will start to burn. I hope this helps. [JAWS-Users] burning audio cd windows media player 12
I tried to use the tutorial for windows media player 10 and xp. Step 8 fails for me using windows media player 12 and win 7 32 bit with jaws 12. The instructions at step 8 are as follows: 8. Now, go to My Computer, and select your cd burner, and press enter to open it. At this point the drawer opens and jaws reads insert a cd in the drive and there is a choice to help locate what kind to use. I also hear a percentage counter. If I cancel the drive is again closed. If I go on and enter a cd as step 9 9. When the burner opens, Jaws will say, list view, zero items. Paste your files here, and wait for the copying to finish. I never get the zero list. 10. When copying has finished, place a CDR disk in the drive, and close the drawer. If a dialogue pops up, and prompts you to choose an action, tab to the cancel button and press the spacebar. --- Please visit my home page, it is motivational, educational, inspirational with a touch of humor. The program section of this web page has burning a CD with window media player by Brian. It works well with window 7 and jaws 12. Although the tutorial was setup for XP and window media player 10, it does nice job with window 7, player 12 and jaws 12. -Original Message- From: Lenny McHugh Sent: Friday, November 05, 2010 12:08 PM To: JFW List Subject: [JAWS-Users] audio ce with windows media player 12.0.7600 On this new win 32 bit machine windows media player 12.0.7600 is installed. Re: [JAWS-Users] Restoring my HD data including OS using image for windows on another PC?
I think that is possible as long as the partition on the new drive is bigger than the partition that was imaged. To do this, you would need to change some of the geometry settings and advanced settings during the restore process. Of course, this does not get around any license issues and suddenly allow you to run two or more copies of any software! Hello. thx to the fellow listers for the info on 'Image for windows' for which David F is preparing an audio tutorial. One thing that perplexes me is whats stopping anyone to back up their HD data and OS onto an external USB hard drive and then go ahead and put that image on the HD of another PC altogether which may have a diff version of windows or where the OS might be malfunctioning or whatever. This clearly would be cheating and I'm just curious to know what stops one from doing this using 'Image for Windows'? Re: [JAWS-Users] Restoring my HD data including OS using image for windows on another PC?
What stops one from doing this is the hardware is likely not going to be identical. You would need the second PC to be configured exactly the same way, with similar drivers etc. - Original Message - From: "Dujari, Prateek" To: Sent: Thursday, November 04, 2010 2:38 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Restoring my HD data including OS using image for windows on another PC?
