[JAWS-Users] Calculater?

2011-04-28 Thread Victoria Vaughan
Hi, My Braille Light has seaced to function and I don't want to go to the cost
of fixing it, at this time.
Because it was so easy to do all my math on it, I never explored the calculator
programs available on the computer.

What program do you think would work the easiest with Jaws 11? If it is not
within the Windows Xp Home edition, where would I find this program for
addition, subtraction,multiplication and division?

Many thanks in advance! Vicky

For XP the Windows calculator should suffice. to get to the Windows
calculator, you can press your Windows Logo key plus r then type in calc, If
you don't have a Windows Logo key on your keyboard, you can use control plus
escape to bring up the start menu, after that, press r to bring up the run
dialog, in the run dialog, type in calc, that would bring up the Windows
default calculator. It works quite well with JAWS.

I hope this helps you..

Re: [JAWS-Users] I am still not able to read messages in yahoomessenger using jaws 11 please help.

2011-04-28 Thread Mich
Hello. ok let me make my self clear. I am running IE 7, Windows xp, sp 3 and
yahoo messenger 10 with jaws 11. and the scripts don't seem to work at all.
as I have said time and time again there were scripts that were on the jaws
users page at one time that were written by rampcure and in hanced by
jetendra for yahoo messenger and those scripts worked like a dream. I think
they were for yahoo messenger 8 though but they are no longer on the sight
though. and before some one asks yes I did try downgrading to yahoo
messenger 8 and still it didn't work. when I would open up yahoo messenger
and I had the scripts it would say yahoo messenger welcome to yahoo
messenger scripts in hanced by rampcure and jetendra and then it would say
yahoo messenger again. then when I would go through my contacts list I would
be able to see who was on line and hit f 6 to hear jaws say typing window
and message window. I can do all of this now but the difference is that with
those scripts that used to be on the jaws users page I was able to read what
people were typing to me and what I was typing back. another thing that they
would read were the messages at the top of the message window that said that
who I was talking to was using a older version of yahoo messenger and that
serten features would not be available. I am not hearing this now either. I
also when I send a message am not hearing the message that I send when I hit
enter. before it would say something like michverrier says hi if I hit enter
and landed in the message window I could arrow up and read what I sent now I
am un able to do this. so I hope that if some one out there has these serten
scripts that were on the jaws users page and can send them to me that would
be grate. they are no longer there and there is also nothing in the tips and
tricks page about setting up yahoo messenger to work with jaws either and
there used to be as well. well I hope that this finely explains what my
problem is and that I will be able to get some help with this. from Mich.

For XP the Windows calculator should suffice. to get to the Windows
calculator, you can press your Windows Logo key plus r then type in
calc,
If you don't have a Windows Logo key on your keyboard, you can use
control
plus escape to bring up the start menu, after that, press r to bring up
the run dialog, in the run dialog, type in calc, that would bring up
the
Windows default calculator. It works quite well with JAWS.

  I hope this helps you..

Re: [JAWS-Users] How do I get convertfiles.com to work?

2011-04-28 Thread Flor Lynch
Do you see the two combo boxes? One for input format, file to upload;
the other for output format, file to convert. And there is a browse
button for you to open the local file on your drive etc. if that's what
you want to convert. using JAWS12, IE8, it appears straightforward
enough.

Hi gang.
Today's blind bargains site as well as the top tech tidbits posting
leads us to convertfiles.com which appears to be an awesome free file
conversion service where you apparently upload your file and they
convert it for you to the chosen format.
My problem: I just cant figure out the button or edit fields or
anything remotely like this to be able to do any of this stuff. Would
some one pl post step by step instructions on what I need to do
assuming I simply have the web page at www.convertfiles.com open?

Thx much!

According to my news letter Justin is giving away a free copy of his

seems to require a password to unlock the zip archive which he did not
provide. Has anybody else run in to this difficulty?

[JAWS-Users] How To Fix Jaws 12 UP date?

2011-04-28 Thread Mark

Hi
I installed the latest JAWS up date
for JAWS 12. Instantly I was unable to do any thing on the internet. Sadly
before I new what was going on I had up dated all three of my computers. I
had to revert back to JAWS 11 on this computer and even this took sighted
assistance. So, I am left wondering what happened to JAWS 12? Also, How
will I know when it is safe to go back to JAWS 12?
I appreciate any help you can give me.

God bless,

First, I learned how to launch Narrator. Then, I used the help of the

JAWS 12 from freedom scientific. After installing the JAWS 12 again
everything is working great!
