Hi David,

With IE open, press Insert / Jaws key + V, for Jaws options.
2. Press the letter P, until you land onn Progress Bar. If Jaws says,
Progress bar spoken, you can press escape to close Jaws options. If Jaws
says, progress bar silent, press the spacebar until Jaws reads progress bar
spoken & press enter to save changes & close.

Again with IE open;

1. Press Insert / Jaws key + 6, on the number row above the main keyboard to

open the configuration manager.
2. Press Alt + S, to open Set Options & press the letter U, to open user
options.
3. You should be on, announce progress bar updates. The default setting is
5 second intervals.
4. Tab to okay, press enter, press control + S, to save your changes, & Alt
+ F4 to close.

Someone please jump in if I've missed something or if I'm wrong to correct
me. Hope this helps. Take care.
Mike

Re: [JAWS-Users] disabling speaking page numbers in MS word 2007

2011-07-13 Thread Mike & Barbara In Arcadia
Hi LMorris,

I don't know if this will work in Word2007 but, in Word2002 this is where I
went to have page numbers read, except I turned this option on.
While in Word open Jaws options with Insert / Jaws key + V. Press the
letter P, until you have Page, Section, and Multiple Column Breaks
highlighted, press the spacebar until Jaws reads,OFF. Press enter to save
your changes & close.
If there are other ways to turn the reading of pages on / off hopefully
others will let us know. Hope this helps. Take care.

Good Evening,

I've resisted using the Outlook 2007 calendar for many reasons, none of them
exceptional reasons not to use it. I went to Freedom Scientific's website
and searched for outlook 2007 calendar keystrokes and came up with nothing.

I really need to learn to use the outlook calendar at work. Is there a list
of keystrokes or a tutorial somewhere which would assist a JAWS user to
learn the functions of the outlook 2007 calendar? At work I am using
Windows XP with Office 2007, which came with Outlook 2007.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 12 and Outlook 2007 Problems

2011-07-13 Thread East, Robin
Hi, Has this been resolved and if so what was the fix? If not are you
running 32 bit machine or 64 bit and how much memory (RAM) you can have
up to 4 gig with 32 bit but the video RAM is subtracted from this and
well 64 let us just say more then 4 gig. I have found with a 32 bit
machine 1 gig of RAM is not enough and if you have only 1 gig then you
will see the sluggishness and the missing of letters when typing etc. so
max out the RAM and this may solve some of these issues.

Hello everyone,

I am running Outlook 2007 and the latest version of JAWS 12. I have a
couple issues:

1.When in the message list and in emails, JAWS is very
sluggish-compared to using other applications.

2. When reading emails, JAWS will sometimes read the same line a
second time when I press the down arrow-instead of reading the line that
I am focused on. This also happens when I use the up arrow.

3. When I press the backspace key, JAWS does not accurately tell
me
the characters I am deleting; it is accurate in all other Windows
programs.

Would anyone have any suggestions about what might be causing my
problem(s)?

Thanks,

Michael

If you don't have a num pad on your lap top
Your caps lock turned on can then make some of the right hhand keys act
like the num pad

Caps and jkl are are left arrow current letter, and right arrow respectively
Go up above the jkl to uio and there is where you will find the / that you
need
I don't use this combination as I have my lap top set to desk top since I
have a full num pad on muy lap top

I think this is accurate but not totally sure
Good luck

Hello all, and please forgive this possibly ridiculous question from a list
newby!

I am currently experimenting with Google Plus using firefox and Jaws12 (a
whole other subject, I suspect). I've run into the need to drag and drop
items, but can't seem to do so. I've dug around and discovered a command
that seems to work for users who still have access to the numPad, but I am
working on a laptop and have Jaws configured accordingly. Most instructions,
including those on this page, suggest control+insert+NumPadSlash to pull up
the drag and drop page. If there is a laptop equivalent to NumPadSlash, I'm
afraid I don't know what it is. When I try the command using the laptop jaws
key and the regular keyboard slash key, it brings up a list of "clickable
elements."

If someone has any tips to set me straight in terms of this function, or
even laptop keystrokes in general, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks and all the best,
