This is Ibrahim Ajayi from Nigeria. I use The Windows 7 operating
system, Home Premium. I want to use the recovery manager, to reset my
computer, and to restore it back to the factory setting, if it every
breaks down. But when I get to the recovery manager, JAWS is always
silent. Is this a common experience. Can one possibly makme JAWS
talk with this recovery manager program. Many Windows 7 programs
appear not to be compatible with JAWS. Is this the case. Again, The
program JAWS crack: what is it all about, and what is it for.
I look forwartd to reading from you chaps. Thank you.Hi good People:

[JAWS-Users] How do you do a repair of jaws, if the choice is not given to you on the install disk?

2011-07-16 Thread jim rawls
Hi all,
I installed jaws from the jaws 12 disk. I think I need to repair it. Reason...
while in the download folder in windows 7, the one on the C drive, that comes
with the machine, alt F and Control C or Control V do not function. So, I can't
move downloaded books out of that folder, unless I use the applications key and
arrow down to either cut or copy. Then, I can go to a folder in my documents
and move the book there. But... why don't alt F and Control C etc. no longer
work in the download folder? They do in documents. I am running windows 7 home
premium, jaws 12, on a 64 bit machine. Jim

Jim,
This may sound silly but your problem might be ribbon related, rather than
jaws related.
The next time you are in that folder, try pressing the Alt key alone. I
have found that with ribbon based displays, alt F commands don't always
function as they should.

Jimm,

Try the following. Press Control + Insert + NumpadMinus. You want it so
that the JAWS cursor will not follow the PC cursor. If it's saying
the JAWS cursor will follow... then press it again. When you have the
setting corrected (as above), press those keys twice again.

That's what I have and it works great in Windows and JAWS. As always

Is the question about repairing JAWS or has the subject not been updated?

I, for one, would appreciate the subject line be referring to the material

should work. How can I fix these things so they will work? Jim

 Hi all,
I installed jaws from the jaws 12 disk. I think I need to repair it.
Reason... while in the download folder in windows 7, the one on the
C drive, that comes with the machine, alt F and Control C or Control
V do not function. So, I can't move downloaded books out of that
folder, unless I use the applications key and arrow down to either cut
or copy.
Then, I can go to a folder in my documents and move the book there.
But... why don't alt F and Control C etc. no longer work in the
download folder? They do in documents. I am running windows 7 home

Try the following. Press Control + Insert + NumpadMinus. You want it so
that the JAWS cursor will not follow the PC cursor. If it's

saying the JAWS cursor will follow... then press it again. When you

have the setting corrected (as above), press those keys again, twice
quickly.

[JAWS-Users] Putting Jaws12 in sleep mode

2011-07-16 Thread The Clueless Wanderer
Hi Friends,
I recently upgraded to Jaws 12.0.525 and am using Windows XP pro. My question
is:
How do I put Jaws in sleep mode so I can play my games with just the sappy 5
voices and not have Jaws echo every thing in the back ground. In an earlier
version of Jaws I pressed insert plus the number 6, then when an abbreviated
game name was announced I pressed enter. Then alt plus the letter s for said
options followed by the letter a. The first two choices were sleep mode
options which you checked then apply and OK. Finishing up with alt F4 and yes
to save changes. That doesn't work in Jaws 12. Does anyone know how to do this.
Any help would be appreciated.

should work. How can I fix these things so they will work? Jim

Just highlight the book or folder you want to move, copy to clipboard
and move to where you want to place it and press control-v to paste.

Whatever is the problem here, it's unlikely to be JAWS related.

Hi all,
I installed jaws from the jaws 12 disk.

I am running windows 7 home
premium, jaws 12, on a 64 bit machine. Jim For answers to

We have had some sort of population explosion or something like it here
recently. What I mean is in the last couple of days this list picked up
around 15 or so new members which brings our current total to 576 as of
this writing.

Just wanted to post a welcome message is all, enjoy the list. I wonder if
I need to order more chairs and paper cups.

Press the control key + JAWSKey + NumpadMinus, till JAWS says, the JAWS
key will not follow the PC cursor. then press those keys again twice
quickly. If it's isn't that, then it may be that some form of cursor
restriction or unrestriction (other than the default) is in place in the
Download folder.

Garry, is this better? you make a good point, and this thread did
wander a
bit. I did a clean install of jaws and no change to the problem. I
still
cannot make alt F Control C or Control V work in the download folder
in
Drive C, that comes with windows 7 home premium. If someone has an
idea, and
wants to do a tandem session with me, I'm willing. I'll call FS
Monday if it

doesn't solve by that time. Smile. Jim

2011-07-16 Thread Gary Patterson
Jim, I don't have the tandem feature, so I guess that leaves me out. First,
I'm not at all sure what you are wanting to accomplish. I went to my
download folder and did an Alt+F. I don't remember what that landed on, but
I couldn't figure what you were doing Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V for. You must have
been wanting to copy something to the clipboared and then wanting to Paste
the item back where it was. So, now you can see I don't know what the
mission was.

I should be here all of tomorrow, so send me a message if I can help in
anyway. I have free long distance service, so we could talk.

If you went to the convention, hope you had a good time. I haven't gone the
last two years.
