[JAWS-Users] Alt h,x,v command in Jaws 13 beta
the alt h,x,v command to read emails in the internet browser does not seem to work in Jaws13 beta. Does anyone know the right command for activating that function in Outlook 2007 using JFW 13 beta? I am using a windows 7 64 bit system. Greg Washington For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

As I've been saying, I am migrating from Office 2000 to 2010 and thus far Have managed to deal with the ribbons etc in Word Excel. I have mastered the basics of those programs to do what typical tasks I do. now on to Outlook. I got that installed ok last night and when it first opened I was impressed that it seemed to bring all my info over automatically from 2000. All my folders, contacts, settings etc seemed to be there. From that point on it was all downhill. I kept all default settings to try to get the hang of the basics. I am using FS JAWS ribbon feature. I played with it for almost 2 hours and could get no where. I was able to navigate the folder tree and figured out how to expand and collapse messages. However I could not get my mail to come into the inbox or read any messages in there. From the tree I could tab to what I am assuming is the message pane. I could use the arrow key to go up and down to hear who a message was from but if I hit enter to open the message I could not read the contents with standard JAWS reading keys. I have a lot of mail to deal with during the day and somehow need to learn some basics before using this. I finally ended up uninstalling for now and reinstalling Outlook 2000 until I can be confident I can at least get mail, read it, adjust some settings to keep mail on the server, etc. From first impressions it appears to be a giant learning curve from 2000. Any helpful tips, tutorials, etc? I am going to look around myself too and see what is available. Just finding what you want in those ribbons an overwhelming. [JAWS-Users] Low on virtual memory
Hi, I am using windows XP with 3 GB ram with latest Jaws 12. I was listening live to a NFL football game today on my computer when I heard a sound, but it didn't sound like the sound you get with a fatal error. I lost Jaws and my wife told me that the screen stated a message low on virtual memory. She closed the screen and after that I got another message something to do with bector and Internet explorer 8 for which I have no idea what that means. I don't recall any other problems with IE8 and I had only the home page of the radio station and a second page for the audio opened. For what it is worth, here is the URL of the radio station. When I got the page, I pressed enter on listen live. http://www.espn980.com/ Does anyone have any idea what caused the error and what should I do? Even after my wife got me back to the desktop, Jaws was stilll not talking. So, I aborted Jaws (insert key+Windows key+F4) and use the shortcut key to bring back Jaws. Any help and suggestions will greatly be appreciated. Take care. Lennie For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

Re: [JAWS-Users] Low on virtual memory
The first thing I would do is reboot the pc. It sounds like your memory is getting full. IF you haven't rebooted in a while than now is agood time. If this isn't the problem than the player your using to listen to the stream may not be freeing up memory as needed. If this is the case next time just try closing the program and restarting it. - Original Message - From: Lennie lenni...@mchsi.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Sunday, October 02, 2011 4:32 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Low on virtual memory Hi, I am using windows XP with 3 GB ram with latest Jaws 12. Re: [JAWS-Users] Low on virtual memory
Hi Brad and Hans, I cannot close the program that caused the error since Jaws stopped working and I cannot get rid of the error message. I have just power off the computer and started it again to get around the problem. The audio streaning is causing the problem filling up the virtual memory and perhaps Jaws was also in virtual memory which may be the reason why it stopped talking. Aborting Jaws took care of the problem after my wife got rid of all the junk on the screen. I do have a lot of programs running in the background. When I listen to the next game in two weeks, I am going to close everything that I have in the system tray before the game starts and hopefully I will have enough virtual memory to get through three hours of the game. I suppose increasing the virtual memory could fix the problem? Anyway, thanks for both of your suggestions. Take care Lennie At 06:04 PM 10/2/2011, you wrote: The first thing I would do is reboot the pc. It sounds like your memory is getting full. IF you haven't rebooted in a while than now is agood time. Re: [JAWS-Users] Auto maximize script
The problem is the outlook express scripts have changed over the years and so has the locations for that function. This is for reading and or composing messages .
