[JAWS-Users] Alt h,x,v command in Jaws 13 beta

2011-10-02 Thread Greg Washington
the alt h,x,v command to read emails in the internet browser does not seem
to work in Jaws13 beta. Does anyone know the right command for activating
that function in Outlook 2007 using JFW 13 beta? I am using a windows 7 64
bit system.

I set navigation pane to normal,

And to do bar off,

Daily Tip:
Outlook's Junk Email Options

Being the most efficient multitasker in the office usually comes down to
setting the right priorities. Some people simply don't have time to sift
through an inbox teeming with spam. On the other hand, dreadful consequences
could arise if an important client's email winds up in Outlook's Junk E-mail
folder. Outlook lets you modify your junk email options according to the
level of vigilance you demand.
Outlook's junk email filter is automatically set to Low; to change this
setting, open the Tools menu and select Options. Under the Preferences tab,
click the Junk E-mail button. In the Junk E-mail Options dialog box, you can
choose from the following levels of security: No Automatic Filtering, Low,
High, and Safe Lists Only.

As its name suggests, the No Automatic Filtering option will not block any
spam. Microsoft only recommends disabling the Junk E-mail filter if your
mail server already uses an effective third-party spam blocking utility. The
Low setting will typically only filter the most blatant spam, but the High
setting may occasionally catch emails from legitimate senders. Safe Lists
Only is the most restrictive filter. If you select this option, Outlook lets
through only emails from people in your Contacts folder and those you
specified under the Safe Senders and Safe Recipients lists.

To maintain a high level of spam filtering while allowing important emails
to pass through, set the Junk E-mail filter to High and periodically check
your Junk E-mail folder. When you find an email that isn't spam, right-click
the message and point to Junk E-mail. Click Mark As Not Junk, which opens
the Mark As Not Junk dialog box. When you select The Always Trust Email From
checkbox, Outlook adds the sender's email address to your Safe Senders list.
Click OK to finish.

I had Control+Alt+J set to launch Jaws 10. I went to the properties

I unloaded Jaws 12 and pressed Control+Alt+ J. Jaws 10 came up. The
properties of the Jaws 13 icon still shows Control+Alt+J as the hot

In the past assigning a key stroke to a newer version would override

[JAWS-Users] Low on virtual memory

2011-10-02 Thread Lennie

Hi,

I am using windows XP with 3 GB ram with latest Jaws 12.

I was listening live to a NFL football game today on my computer when
I heard a sound, but it didn't sound like the sound you get with a
fatal error.

I lost Jaws and my wife told me that the screen stated a message low
on virtual memory. She closed the screen and after that I got another
message something to do with bector and Internet explorer 8 for which
I have no idea what that means.

I don't recall any other problems with IE8 and I had only the home
page of the radio station and a second page for the audio opened. For
what it is worth, here is the URL of the radio station. When I got
the page, I pressed enter on listen live.

http://www.espn980.com/

Does anyone have any idea what caused the error and what should I do?
Even after my wife got me back to the desktop, Jaws was stilll not
talking. So, I aborted Jaws (insert key+Windows key+F4) and use the
shortcut key to bring back Jaws.

Any help and suggestions will greatly be appreciated. Take care.

Lennie

Daily Tip:
Encrypt Your Email

Worried about those IT guys in your office being able to read your personal
emails? Next time you are sending a private or personal email through
Microsoft Outlook, encrypt it so only you and your recipient can read them.
Head to the Tools menu, then click on Options and select the Security tab.
Enter a password you've shared with the recipient and no one who doesn't
know the password will be able to open the message.

The first thing I would do is reboot the pc. It sounds like your memory is
getting full. IF you haven't rebooted in a while than now is agood time. If

Re: [JAWS-Users] Low on virtual memory

2011-10-02 Thread Lennie

Hi Brad and Hans,

I cannot close the program that caused the error since Jaws stopped
working and I cannot get rid of the error message. I have just power
off the computer and started it again to get around the problem.

The audio streaning is causing the problem filling up the virtual
memory and perhaps Jaws was also in virtual memory which may be the
reason why it stopped talking.

Aborting Jaws took care of the problem after my wife got rid of all
the junk on the screen.

I do have a lot of programs running in the background. When I listen
to the next game in two weeks, I am going to close everything that I
have in the system tray before the game starts and hopefully I will
have enough virtual memory to get through three hours of the game.

I suppose increasing the virtual memory could fix the problem?

Anyway, thanks for both of your suggestions.

Take care

Lennie

The problem is the outlook express scripts have changed over the years and
so has the locations for that function. This is for reading and or composing
messages . Start by looking at the focus changed event and or the document
loaded event functions.

The windows mail scripts are not too tuff and I might do an audio on that

You go into each of them and close the program, stopping them running
until the next reboot or you open any again.

It has been my experience that you need to assign a separate hot key for
each version of any given program, results may vary, details inside no
purchase necessary.

Hello;

I have Jaws 10, Jaws 12, and now Jaws 13 on my XP computer. Jaws 12 is
set

as the default.

I had Control+Alt+J set to launch Jaws 10. I went to the properties of the
Jaws 13 desk top icon and assigned Control+Alt+ J as the launch hot key.

I unloaded Jaws 12 and pressed Control+Alt+ J. Jaws 10 came up. The
properties of the Jaws 13 icon still shows Control+Alt+J as the hot key

In the past assigning a key stroke to a newer version would override the
old
setting. This is not a big deal but I am wondering if this new scenario
is

what FS expected. t
