Hi All,

I ran across a tip on how to set the time for how long balloon messages
will

stay up so you can have time to access them.  Here you go;

In Windows 7 it's under Ease of Access. Type Ease of Access in to the
search box in the start prompt. In the Ease of Access Center go to, Make
it

easier to focus on tasks, and hit enter.
Near the end of the options that come up is a combobox with different time
settings to adjust the time that those balloons stay on screen.
I adjusted mine to 1 minute which gives me enough time to find them and
click on them. Hope this helps. Take care.

 Ok smarty pants.
1, Press the T to get to the table
2, Arrow down to Choose a local file:, that box is check, so leave
it

alone
3, Arrow down to browse. Sometimes if it don't show up when down
arrowing,

then up arrow, and it will show up, press space bar
4, It will put you in a dialog box.
5, Shift tab to find the file you want to convert
6, After you find the file tab to open, or I just press enter on the
file

name, after you tab to file name
7, Tab to input, and it will say the format name of your file
8, Tab to output, and arrow down to what format you want
9, Tab to convert, press the space bar
Now it will take you to another page, and wait a little
10, Arrow down to download your file, and it will bring up a dialog
box to

 save to your computer

  Hey Patti,

Where are the rest of the steps?! Pressing the letter T, just

Helo all.

Do you have any suggestions for free online conversion of any youtube
video to mp3 file? Key preferences of such a service are listed below so
pl read those before posting responses.
1. High bit rate of the converted file e.g. 192kbps or higher. I already
know of one at following URL but it converts only to 128 kbps mp3:
http://www.youtube-mp3.org/
2. Prefer it to be a service where I don't have to download and install
any software. I should just be able to add the whole URL of the specific
youtube page in an edit field on the web page and it should convert and
provide me a download link.

thanks

[JAWS-Users] jaws 13 and form fields

2012-03-30 Thread stephen faill
hello list.
i have just upgraded from jfw 11 to jfw 13 and am needing some advice on form
fields in internet explorer.
with jaws 11 when i had to re enter a form field which still had text in it i
would position my cursor at the end of the text and start deleting the text
with my back space key.
the character being deleted would be announced and that was it.
with jaws 13 when i go through this process and use my back space key jaws
announces not only the character being deleted but also says what is left in
the form field.
now this is annoying because half the time the words that are left once i start
deleting are fairly unrecognisable.
how do i get jaws 13 to react the way that jaws 11 did in this respect?
all help is greatly appreciated.

I should say dictionary.com is really really notorious to put dozens
and dozens of trojans and cookies on your system if you use it even
once and that only means it clogs your PC over time, hits you with ads
at random times while on the web browser surfing the internet and in
general is evil. so prefer wiktionary.com which can be accessed

Second option is to go to google.com and in the search field type the
following syntax exactly:

 Hi

In the latest JAWS update, the personal settings for individual web
 pages
are now part of Quick Settings. While in internet explorer, press
 JAWSKey+v
to open quick settings. Type inline frames in the search box. You
 will see
two results. The first is under Virtual cursor options and is the
 general
setting. The second is under Personalized Web Settings and is
 specific to
the page that is currently open.

 1specific web page?

In the latest update to JAWS13, FS removed personal verbosity
 Settings.
I don't think the implications of that have sunk in yet, or else they
 are
being blithely ignored by FS. The setting or unsetting of the reading
 of
In-line Frames was/is a personal verbosity setting. The removal of
 verbosity
settings overall and their replacement by Quick Settings has
 implications
for JAWS users with other programs, and I would mention JAWS with MS
 Excel
in particular. Now that having been said, for my part, i did not make
 the
ignoring of in-line frames a general or personal verbosity setting
 (except
on one or two sites I use or used often, where I know it to be a
Flash-induced problem): so I don't have the problem of not being able
 to see
the tables, radiobuttons, etc., on the convert.com site:
that reads as it should for me.

 Hello.

Of all the gazillion web pages and sites out there, is there a way to
set JFW13 to 'read in-line frames' only on just 1 specific web page
 of
my choosing? I like to uncheck the 'read in-line frames' in the JFW
default setting and want to change this behavior on just 1 single web
 page.

This web page happens to be the recently discussed convertfiles.com
 as
I discovered AI need JFW to be able to read in line frames in order
 to
access the edit fields and other controls to be able to use the
 service.

 Thx.

That is not a solution. My question specifically has been to change inline

Change the default setting and I think it will act how you want. The

I should say dictionary.com is really really notorious to put dozens
and dozens of trojans and cookies on your system if you use it even
once and that only means it clogs your PC over time, hits you with ads
at random times while on the web browser surfing the internet and in

Hi Vicky Kathy,

This is where I was a bit confused myself but, what you do is when you hear
whatever sound you have assigned for System Notification, indicating the
Balloon
message, you left mouse click right there! When this balloon message pops
up, this balloon message has the focus of the screen. So, you don't have
to,
Alt + Tab, to find it, it's right there, just press the left mouse click
button! Or, from what I understand anyways, you can sometimes go to the
system
tray find it, like Windows Updates, for example. Hope this helps you as
much as it did me! LOL

Take care.

That is not a solution. My question specifically has been to change inline

default setting to read inline frames my question would be irrelevant and
non-existent.

In the latest JAWS update, the personal settings for individual web

Hi Vicky Kathy,

This is where I was a bit confused myself but, what you do is when you
hear

whatever sound you have assigned for System Notification, indicating the
Balloon
message, you left mouse click right there!
LOL

Take care.

  Hi All,

I ran across a tip on how to set the time for how long balloon messages
  will
  stay up so you can have time to access them.  Here you go;

In Windows 7 it's under Ease of Access. Type Ease of Access in to
the

search box in the start prompt. In the Ease of Access Center go to,
Make
  it
easier to focus on tasks, and hit enter.
Near the end of the options that come up is a combobox with different
time
  settings to adjust the time
that those balloons stay on screen.
I adjusted mine to 1 minute which gives me enough time to find them and
click on them. Hope this helps. Take care.

[JAWS-Users] Maximizing Windows Keystroke for Windows7

2012-03-30 Thread Mike Barbara
Hi All,

I was reading a tutorial by David Bales at;

http://goo.gl/uu3XW

In this tutorial he talks about using the, Windows Key + Up Arrow keystroke
for maximizing windows. Apparently in Windows7 you can invoke this
keystroke on any window you want to maximize Windows7 will maximize the
window remember the setting so you don't have to maximize it again. I
haven't had a chance to try this keystroke as of yet to see if Windows7 will
retain the settings even after a reboot. Hopefully someone will have more
knowledge to add about using this keystroke. Take care.

Where's the evidence to back up your assertion that dictionary.com is
'really really notorious'? yes, it is rather ad-full. But Trojans and
all that?

I should say dictionary.com is really really notorious to put dozens
and dozens of trojans and cookies on your system if you use it even
once and that only means it clogs your PC over time, hits you with
ads

at random times while on the web browser surfing the internet and in
general is evil. so prefer wiktionary.com which can be accessed
directly through your web browser or via JFW's research it.

Second option is to go to google.com and in the search field type
the

following syntax exactly:

[JAWS-Users] accessing links in Outlook 2010

2012-03-30 Thread Erin Pruitt
Hi, y'all,

I'm using JAWS 13 and Outlook 2010. Got a new computer a couple of weeks
ago, and now am not able to click on a link received in an email and have it
open in IE. It gives me an error message like this operation has been
cancelled due to restrictions placed on your computer. Please contact your
system administrator. And then just an OK button, so no further info on
how to fix it myself. I am the system administrator as the owner of my
computer, aren't I? I was previously using Outlook 2003, and knew I could
switch from receiving messages in plain text to html. I can't find that in
2010, but it says I'm sending in html.

Thanks for your help,

Erin

[JAWS-Users] Office 2010 and JAWS

2012-03-30 Thread Lynn Golightly
Hello List.

My work computer crashed and I just got Windows 7 and Office 2010. In
office 2010 when I do the move to folder, shift, control v, I don't find my
folders I created, or JAWS is not reading them. How do you get to the
folders and subfolders we create in Outlook 2010?

Another question, I thought you could set the bcc column in the toolbar, but
I can't seem to find that either.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Since the video intercept won't work under windows 8 if I understand things

Outlook 2010 menus are very screen driven. In order to move an
e-mail message with control-shift v, you have to be in the mailbox,
not the message.

New folders are under the inbox. So control-y to inbox, I think tab
once, then down arrow to the sub-folders.

You can reach the BCC button only from a new-mail screen--new
message, reply, or forward. it is under options on the upper ribbon,
reached with alt-p.

Good luck!

2012-03-30 Thread Hans Pauli Sundstein

Hi.

You can use the context menu button and arrow to the Move to Folder and
press enter, and than selecting the folder where to move the message to.
If you just want to move to another folder, to view the content, you can
either use the folder treeview, if available, or press ctrl+y to get the
list of folders, and arrow to the one you want to go to, and press enter.

ctrl+i should bring you back to your inbox.

About your second question:
Press ctrl+n for beginning a new message,
Press shift+tab once, and you should get to a button, where you can get the
cc field and bcc field visable or hidden, so press once on this button, and
both the cc and bcc field should appear in the tab view when you have
started a new message.

Good luck!

Hello all,

What would happen if I were to attempt to use JAWS 13.0.718 with the
Windows 8 Consumer Preview? Would JAWS simply fail to install, run, and
work properly? Or, is there some functionality that an experienced JAWS
user might be able to tame and work through?

All the best,

Grant
