[JAWS-Users] beta of jaws 14 still crashing on some types of messages
Hi all Before reporting this on the bug fix page, Im wondering whether anyone else has this problem. Even with the update, Jaws 14 beta is still crashing on some messages in outlook 2010. This seems to happen in the type of message where you can use alt-h, v and a to read the message in internet explorer for example in notices from facebook. The crash is so bad that you have to switch off the computer manually and restart again. Just wondering if someone else is having this problem? Re: [JAWS-Users] beta of jaws 14 still crashing on some types of messages
I have reported what I think is a similar issue to FS and they are working on it. For me, it was the email from my utility company. It would crash Outlook and unless you could get some sighted assistance to click on a couple of boxes I pretty much had to shut down and reboot. So far, this is the only message I have had trouble with. Every email from them consistently reproduces the same result. Re: [JAWS-Users] beta of jaws 14 still crashing on some types of messages
I hope fs can get to the botttom of this. I don't have the same problem, but everytime either outlook 2010, or IE9 stops responding, Jaws will lock the keyboard, and also stop responding. The only fix is to shut down the computer. Even loading another screen doesn't help because Jaws will lock the keyboard. I'm guessing this is a hard bug to track down because this even ixests in 13 as well. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of André van Deventer Sent: Friday, October 12, 2012 8:27 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] beta of jaws 14 still crashing on some types of messages Al One wonders if it was also on the same kind of e-mail where you had to in previous versions use alt-h, a and then v to read it in internet explorer. JAWS 14 introduces the feature to be able to virtual mail in Outlook 2010 and 2007 so that the messages that are formatted with Tables, can be read without having to open it in a browser. This is something we have been working on for almost a year now. If you don't have a message now, that causes the problem, please try to find one and submit it to us as soon as possible. Re: [JAWS-Users] focus 44 braille display and win7 64?
How do you know if the driver is installed on the Windows7 64-bit? All you seem to be getting is the Focus startup message. have you tried adding it in through the synthesizer and braille manager? After all else, You may need to download the Focus Blue Driver (FBD) file from www.freedomscientific.com , (even though FS say you don't need it) - install it, and extract the setup.exe to your desktop. (It needs to be run from your desktop, or else it won't install. Re: [JAWS-Users] wav editing
Yes, there is. You use the trim command in Goldwave. 1. Put a start marker just prior to the point in the file where you want to start saving by putting a left bracket. 2. Go to the end of the file. You can hit the end key to do this. 3. Rewind for the one second by pressing f5, and then pause with f7 at the point where you have the end of the file. 4. Press the right bracket to set the finish marker at that point. 5. Press control-T which is the Trim command. This will delete the parts of the file that are outside of where the start and finish markers are, in this case, the one second at the beginning and the one second at the end. Take my advice, I don't use it anyway. This seems to happen in the type of message where you can use alt-h, v and a to read the message in internet explorer for example in notices from facebook.
