This may sound strange, but I am looking for either a JAWS-accessible video

Press control+shift+ o to open the options menu. Then control tab until
you reach the signatures tab. Then tab through and follow the prompts,
selecting when you want the signature to be used and creating your default

2014-01-31 Thread Trish
I have noticed that as well on the fact jaws dosen't finish the contact
info, by this I mean after you start typing a few letters.
But I am now ok with it, cause as soon as I type the first name, and tab
just one time, jaws has it all filled in with email addy.

I am using WM not WLM, but maybe the contacts are same?

All I do to delte is, open contacts, *might be different in WLM*,
control-shift-C, arrow to thename and press delete key.

also if you wish to edit a contact info, find the one and press enter on the
name, do control-tab to get to different property of that contact info, tab
through fill out and ok when done.

have to alt f4 2 times to back completely out.

Now for adding contacts, if you have the option in tools/settings, you could
check to add contacts whenever you reply to email. I do not like this, cause
I reply alot, but don't want every person in my contacts. So I have it
unchecked on the send page*again settings might be different in WLM*

I add new contacts by pressing the control-shift-c, then alt f,w,c

hello there;

well, to access your contacts in WLM, windows live mail,

do a ctrl+#3, this will place you into the contacts,
or, you could press, f6 key, until you hear;
mail, now down arrow and enter on contacts.

as for key echo?

desktop,
insert+f2=run jaws manager,
now press the letter s=settings center press enter,

now type in the edit field:
echo;

jaws will find 2 search results,
the first one is::
typing echo,
so, press the spacebar to make your choice,
now tab okay.
note, if you want this setting to be global, you need to press
ctrl+shift+d=default, before you do the search,
hope this helps.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Sending an email to a phone number

2014-01-31 Thread Blackwell, Clifford
You type in the 10 digit phone number where the name would go and then
depending on the phone carrier, you type in the address after the at sign.
For example, to send a text from your computer to a Verizon phone it would look
like this: 551...@vtext.com

You can Google a list of the texting numbers for different carriers.

[JAWS-Users] Start Menu, Turning Off Recent Programs

2014-01-31 Thread Mike B.
Hi All, Running Widows7 Pro 64 bit with J15 latest classic shell. When I
open my start menu it hsows the last 5 programs that have been run at the
top. How do I stop these recent things from showing in the start menu?
I've played around turning options on / off in Taskbar Start Menu
properties but, it keeps showing these 5 most recent things run at the top
still. Any suggestions on getting rid of this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks much.

Take care.

Mike,
If I'm understanding your need try highlighting the program you want to
remove in the start menu and then hit the application key. Arrow down to
unpin from start menu and hit enter. That should remove the item from your
start menu.

Hi Mike,
In the properties of the Taskbar and Start Menu, on the Start Menu tab you
will find the following:
Store and display recently opened programs in the Start menu checkbox not
checked
Store and display recently opened items in the Start menu and the taskbar
checkbox not checked
This is the way I have mine set, and the only items that show on the start
menu are the ones I put there.
Note, Having the first one of these unchecked will also keep recently
opened items in the Run dialogue from showing.
Since this is a multi-tab dialogue, there is an apply button
in case you want to make other changes before hitting the okay button.
