Re: [JAWS-Users] using Microsoft one-drive with Jaws
Hi David, I am sorry, but I don't find this on my computer. The only One Drive folder that I have is inside of my users folder just below the Downloads folder. The only file folders that I have on the same level as my users folder ar Default and Public, and it doesn't appear in either of these folders. I do have the application folder im my Program Files (X86) folder, but that is it. -Original Message- From: David Bailes Sent: Friday, October 17, 2014 12:36 PM To: jaws users Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] using Microsoft one-drive with Jaws Hi Mike, I think you'll find that it appears twice: once in your users folder, and again at the same level as your users folder. [JAWS-Users] Folders and Emails Restored!
Well all my good intentions just flew south. I am back where I was before I started this crazy trip. I have all my folders and their contents back on my email client on my laptop. I guess I'll tackle the phone another time. Mike thanks for the email, I didn't use that to get this all restored. I simply did system's restore to the time frame I started this nonsense. That is good to have though just in case, so thanks for sending it. I think I need to leave well enough alone here, until next time.. Re: [JAWS-Users] using Microsoft one-drive with Jaws
Hi Mike, just to point out that on window 8.1, most people don't need to install the desktop app. See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/onedrive/windows-app-faq#1TC=windows-81 David. original message: Hi James, One Drive is not as accessible as some other services like Dropbox, but it can be used. You will need the desktop app, and stay away from the One Drive web page. When you open the app and click on the One Drive button, the files and folders that you have uploaded will appear. The controls for what you can do with these files and folders are found in the Context Menu, by pressing the Applications key or right clicking an unselected area in the program interface. Here you will see options such as Open, Copy, Cut, Create a Link, etc. I am almost certain that if one could see the screen and the elements present there, the program would be much easier and comfortably used. A free account on Dropbox, however, which will get you 2 gb of storage is very accessable. A 1 tb subscription to Dropbox is $9.99/month. Re: [JAWS-Users] Testing New Mail Settings
whoohoo it worked. but if anyone is on TWC as their email server, they need to be aware that the new settings are for IMAP instead of the pop3. However, if you are still using an older system computer or even older IOS device, then you will need to stay with your existing pop3 settings. Here is the breakdown for TWC and TX, check your state for settings may be different. IMAP: outgoing: mail.twc.com port number: 587 and check the Server requires authentication incoming: mail.twc.com port number: 143 do not check tsame box as before for this port Hope this is help to someone. Also, if you use a IMAP account for your mail, be sure to remove the pop3 email account after you have set the new one up. Because this will happen..you will get duplicate emails and possible delays and/or error msg when trying to send mail - Original Message - From: "Trish" To: "Jaws Users List" Sent: Friday, October 17, 2014 12:31 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Testing New Mail Settings I am trying to setup new pop/smtp settings to sync with IMAP settings, finger's crossed.. Re: [JAWS-Users] using Microsoft one-drive with Jaws
Hi Jim, just to add that at the moment, you can't create links for sharing onedrive files using file explorer in 8.1, but this functionality is coming - the following text is taken from a recent post on the OneDrive blog: Easier sharing straight from Windows Explorer. We are thrilled to deliver another top feature request that gives people who use Windows 7 and 8 the ability to quickly get links to content in their OneDrive folder without needing to go to the web. By simply right-clicking the item or items you’d like to share, you’ll see a “Share a OneDrive link” option that will create a sharing link and add it to your Clipboard. From there, you can paste it directly into an email, IM, or other message. This feature has begun rolling out to OneDrive on Windows 7 and 8 and will be available worldwide within a few weeks. We’ll update you as this becomes available on Windows 8.1 and Mac.
