Re: [JAWS-Users] deleting an email address
open windows live mail; now do the following; alt+f=file, up arrow until you hear options sub-menu, right arrow to open, use arro keys and find email accounts, press enter, now again use arrow keys to highlight the email account, note, you may have a little issue with having the various accounts read, however, once you find the account you wish to remove, tab enter on remove. hope this helps. going from memory here, -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Tom Clary Sent: Wednesday, April 15, 2015 6:12 AM To: jaws-users-list Subject: [JAWS-Users] deleting an email address this has been asked before, but how can i delete a email address from wlm? Re: [JAWS-Users] Mozilla or Internet Explorer browser
I, too, use both browsers although I keep Firefox as the default since it is generally considered to be more secure than IE. If I have trouble with a site then I switch to IE. Ninite.com is the easiest way to install the program. I use it for all the installations I possibly can since it is so automatic and doesn't install any extra junk. One thing that makes it especially nice when switching back and forth between the two browsers is the ability to use the regular Favorites menu in Firefox. To do this you need to install the add on Plain Old Favorites. This is available from http://www.iosart.com/firefox/plainoldfavorites/ Open the link in Firefox and install from there. I never use the bookmarks in FF but always use the Favorites menu. The only quirk I have found is that when adding a favorite from FF it works best when choosing the Add favorite and then using alt tab twice to move away from the window and then right back. Then just tab to the add button as usual. One other difference between IE and FF is that to open a private window in FF you find it in the file menu while in IE it is in the tools menu. Hi Shari, Here is a note I've saved on this topic. Give it a try let the list know how it works. From: Brian Lee I am using Word 2013 but I think 2010 will be the same for what I am mentioning. One way you can do this is to use JAWS key with F5 to list fields and press enter on the one you want to move to in the form. Press application key and look for Properties in the contextual menu. If you open properties there is a group of a couple radio buttons for choosing between whether the checkbox is checked or unchecked. Just move to the appropriate radio button and then use OK. With the method you are using if the mark you use is just to the right of the checkbox then try to use left arrow one time after moving to the field. Check in the contextual menu using application key to see if properties is a choice. If so then focus should be right in the checkbox. Take care. Brian Lee HTH Take care. Re: [JAWS-Users] Marking check boxes in Word 2010
Hello Mike and Shari, The message Mike referred to applied to Word's legacy form elements. If JAWS key with F5 doesn't list form fields and F11 doesn't find the fields then it is quite possible that the text box with checkboxes were inserted as content controls. The last I knew JAWS doesn't work well with content controls. If content controls were used Shari might try CTRL+Shift+O, which will list the objects in the document including textboxes inserted from the Word ribbon and not drawn. In the list of objects arrow to the textbox and press enter key. Use right arrow key and if JAWS says out of field then use left arrow back into it. JAWS will say check box not checked or check box checked and if focus is truly on the checkbox then the spacebar will check or uncheck it. However, I have found this works at times and doesn't work well at other times. Take care. Re: [JAWS-Users] Mozilla or Internet Explorer browser
I can't remember exactly the procedure for installing the plain old favorites since it has been so long since I did it. One way to check if it installed is to see if it added the favorites menu to the menu bar. It is right after the bookmarks menu. I always update the FF when a new version comes out for security reasons and so far the plain old favorites continues to work. Firefox often gives a pop up that it prevented a page from redirecting you to another page. I usually ignore these except on the Bard site. The FF shortcut is Alt A for this as well but only when the pop up is there. I am a real security freak so I have followed the directions on Kim Komando's website and disabled the Adobe flash plug in on both browsers. When I want to see a video I can click to allow the program to run. It is amazing how many websites run flash just to do some little unnecessary flash animations. On sites where I regularly watch videos I have clicked the always allowed button for those sites. This does cause the pop up asking to run flash flash to come up but I usually just ignore it as well and it goes away or at least it doesn't bug me again. This was recommended because flash gets so many vulnerabilities that it is safer to only use it when necessary. Take care.
