Hi Net bat,

I noticed that there are 2 different Windows download links, Windows &
Windows 64, but in the properties there isn't an explanation of any
differences between the 2 of them. Do you know of any differences between
the 2 versions, & which version would be the best 1 to run on a 64 bit
computer? Thanks much.
P.S. The answer might be obvious, but if 1 of these is a 32 bit version,
I've heard that it's better to run 32 bit versions of some programs even if
there's a 64 bit version available.

It won't work anymore with the newer Firefoxes, I think from version 53 on.

Webvisum hasn't done anything with their plug-in in at least three years.
That's ashame.

You need to pay for captcha solving via a couple other options.

Try CaptchaBeGone.com or Rumola.com. Rumola works with Firefox and Google
Chrome.

As I mentioned on this topic several months ago, I thought this would be a
great thing for Jaws to try to support, but Mr. Damry wasn't interested.

Fortunately, there are only a few websites that don't have accessible
captcha solution alternatives.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Webvisum

2017-06-30 Thread Mike B.
Hi Steve,

No, ums, about it, I stated that in my P.S., but like I said, I had read
that sometimes it's better to run 32 bit programs verses 64 bit programs, &
I was only looking to see if that exist in this case as well. I also
pointed out the discrepancy so that others can download the version that is
going to work best for them & not be confused by the download choices. I
was able to download both versions, so that tells me that either of them can
be used. Personally I run the portable versions of Firefox, & as near as I
can tell from the properties of all 3 portable versions I use they're all 32
bit.

Um, me thinks it's pretty obvious -- most likely if you have a 64-bit
version of Windows, you want the Windows64 version of FF-ESR. I think it
should default to that automatically when you hit tthe Windows download.

The other version is for 32-bit versions and for systems that are below
Windows 7, i.e. Vista, XP, Server 2003 etc.

Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws talking in spanish?

2017-06-30 Thread Fernando Gregoire
Hi Sugar,

Randy recommended you to turn off the JAWS Language Detection feature. This is
one of the approaches you can use to fix this, and the one I use as a native
Spanish speaker who prefer to read English as it is written instead of the way
in which that language is pronounced, because as a non-native speaker it
becomes harder to understand.
However, if you usually read content in Spanish and like to read it with
Spanish voices, you may prefer to change the language in your document. If this
is a Word document and you want to set the whole document in English, do the
following:
1. Open the document.
2. Press CTRL+A to select it all. If you're using a Spanish version of Word,
press CTRL+E instead, as CTRL+A is for the Open dialog box.
3. If you have Word 2007 or latter, press F6 to go to the status bar, then
press RIGHT ARROW until you reach the button indicating the language; activate
it by pressing SPACE BAR. If you removed the language indication from the
status bar, find the Set Language button in the Review tab; in Word 2013 and
latter there's a dropdown Language button, which opens a menu in which you have
to choose the Set Proofing Language command. I'd tell you the access keys to
open that dialog quickly, but I don't know the exact ones for Word English
versions (in Spanish it is ALT followed by R, ID, D. In Word 2003 and earlier
the status bar is only usable with JAWS Cursor, so the easiest way to set the
language is going to the Tools menu, Language sub menu and then the Set
Language option.
4. In the Language dialog box, set the language you want for the document, in
this case perhaps English (u.S.) and then press ENTER.

Hope it helps!

Re: [JAWS-Users] Focus 14 versus 40

2017-06-30 Thread Jason White
I agree: this very much depends on what you need to do with it, and your
portability requirements (the 14 is obviously more portable, but you would
have to press panning buttons much more frequently to read long documents,
for example, and there's less text available at any given moment due to the
shorter line).
Both of the braille displays that I have bought have had 40-cell lines. I
read and edit relatively complex documents frequently. I'm usually working
at a desk, so extra portability isn't necessary.

It is definitely a matter of personal preference versus what you are going
to use it for as well as what you can afford. I have a Focus 14 and I am
very happy with it. However, I often read documents with a lot of technical

I would say that it is apersonal preference. I use the Focus 40 classic
braille display every day, and I love it. The focus 14 fits needs of
certain people, but I didn't like it. Again, it's a personal preference.
I'm not saying it's bad. I just prefer a 40 cell display as opposed to a 14

everybody tell me what to do? Which one to get? Anyway, just having a hard

Hi

I have a folder in my documents where I save friend and family's home
addresses.

For some of these addresses, Jaws will talk to me in Spanish, but just the
numbers.

Not all of them just a few of them.

How can I correct this to where I want everything in English?

Like I said it doesn't happen to all of them just a handful.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Webvisum

2017-06-30 Thread Mike B.

Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers!

you can use the version 52 e s r version.; this is the business version and
usually will not upgrade for a full year. instead of every 6 weeks.
while still recieveing all the security updates.

i got this upgrade this month so you would be able to use it unt next june
and
the updated webvisum 9.5 i think will still work for another year.
this webvisum is a modified signed version but i don't have the web page
to
download it.

2017-06-30 Thread Adrian Spratt
Thank you for this. I uninstalled Firefox last night and installed this version
in its place. I'm especially reassured because you wrote about security
upgrades continuing for this cycle. Unfortunately, I'm running up against a
deadline, but as soon as I can, I'll attempt to reinstall Webvisum and report
back.
