Re: [JAWS-Users] major announcement

2018-07-19 Thread Andy Baracco
Good luck! earlier this week groups.io suffered some kind of issue, and many
people received messages from the server saying that their accounts had been
suspended because of bounces. This happened to me several times in the
course of a single day, and affected all groups on that server that I was
subscribed to. i had to keep going to the web site and unbouncing myself.
The issue seems to have cleared up now, and yesterday I received almost 700
back messages.

I am considering moving the list over to groups IO as I understand they
seem to have less problems of being bounced by various internet providers.
Over the years and especially lately we have lost a number of good members
since their providers will not allow messages from this domain to get to
subscribers, and as such they bounce and get removed by the server. I can’t
even contact these people privately since my email address is tied to this
domain.

I have to bring my people up to date on groups IO next, the good thing it
is a lot easier to figure out than Mailman. It is almost 10 years since
the last move and with luck this will be the last. I do not know how much
longer I will keep running this beast, but believe it or not in October it
will be 13 years. Bob and I never figured on it lasting this long, There
is obviously a need which is the reason for keeping it.

I would abandon the update Jaws route in the future,
and just download the new release from their website and run it.
The update feature in Jaws doesn't always work correctly, and the download
process
appears to be rather slow compared to directly downloading the executable.
You shouldn't miss out on new releases, Mike posts them to the list when

Afternoon all.

Upon installing the latest update via the laptop update reminder, I had
the

system restart. After restarting, I got (via sighted assistance) an error
message about a dll file being missing. So, again with sighted assistance,
I

had to go to the fs sight, download my version of JAWS 2018, and run a
repair. Has anyone ever gotten this message, and is there a way to prevent
this from happening again. Using JAWS 2018 and Windows 10 on a Dell

Thanks in advance.

Hey guys.

After some thought, I decided to switch my primary synthesiser back to
Eloquence. I must say, that JAWS is now acting a lot more like the robust
and response screen-reader I would expect on such a relatively fast
machine.

I spent the past year listening to a nice, mannered, human-sounding voice,
but wondering why the devil my computer was being just as slow and clunky
at

times as my XP machine was. Well, now I have the answer. Duh. These
Vocalizer voices are resource-intensive and slow the machine down. Anybody
else noticed this? I guess it's a foregone conclusion, but I just assumed
my
machine would be able to handle it well. I think it'd be ok for reading,
but

for all practical purposes, well, the trade in favour of performance is an
obvious no-brainer.

So, what synths does everyone use here, anyway? What are your thoughts on
all the software synths out there nowadays? Curiosity question.

Also, Eloquence - y'know, it's kind of good to have the old man back.

From Control panel to open Internet option:
C:\Windows\System32\inetcpl.cpl was called.

From Internet explorer to open Internet option: C:\Program Files\Internet

And why would that make any different? Seems to me if MS put the reset

why

it would not be okay to do it that say compared to going to the control

I disagree slightly with this procedure.

First, it is better to reset IE using the control panel, and not from IE
itself.
Secondly, make sure you don't have other IE-dependent programs like
certain
email programs open before you start the reset.

I would modify Step 1 to be:
Open Control panel.
In Windows 7 and Vista, just type control panel into the search box and
arrow down until you hear that announced and hit Enter to open it. Then
find Internet Options and hit Enter.

In Windows 10, the easiest way to find control panel is the use the
Windows-X key combination. Control panel and open Internet Options from
there.

Hi Miriam,
Here are my instructions on how to reset IE 11. I would give this a
try.

How to reset IE 11:
I would recommend re setting IE. Here are the steps to do that.
1. Open IE
2. Press alt + T for tools menu.
3. Press up arrow once and you should be on options. Press the enter
key.

4. Press shift + Tab and you should hear General.
5. Press the right arrow key until you hear advance.
6. Tab until you hear reset button.
7. Press enter on the reset button.
8. A dialog box will come up. Press tab once and you will hear
something

about checking this box to delete personal information. Press
the spacebar here to check this check box.
9. Tab twice to the reset button and press the spacebar.
Wait a few minutes then close IE and reopen it. Now it should work like
new.

Note: checking the box about removing personal information will not
remove
your favorites in IE.

If the issue is that the web site is using code that does not support IE 11,
using an older version of JAWS or another screen reader isn't going to help.
IE is no longer being supported, so as time goes on, it will become less and
less effective to use. This might be a good time to start experimenting with
Chrome and Firefox, and for Win 10 users, i understand that progress is
being made with Edge and screen readers.

Agreed. I now use IE11 as a backup, with Chrome as my default browser.
Chrome's menu structure is horrible, even with the headings that Mike B

IE11. Meanwhile, when I want to go to a favorite, I switch over to IE11. I
also find it helpful that you can read difficult emails by sending them

Use hardware acceleration when available Alt+Shift+r

Use autoscrolling Alt+Shift+a

Use smooth scrolling Alt+Shift+m

So, since I rarely ever deal with these particular settings, I forgot what
is advised. Whether to check or uncheck these three options? On the latest
Jaws 2018 May update and it is much better than the first go around with
Firefox 60.

Can anyone give me a refresher and what these three settings actually do?

The presence of variable will depend on what you are ordering. I selected

DIY frame, and a combo list was presented with a style type to pick. But
regardless, I was not able to work the buttons after that.

But I did see a thread on the JFW list with a similar issue in selecting
something on the screen. Here is that solution:

To select the tick box with JAWS, simply press the bypass key, JAWS key+3
then space bar. This will tick it.

Give that a try and let us know.

I'm speculating that in the case where you cannot press the "Add to Cart
Button" there is some other element (checkbox, combo box, editable combo
box, edit field) that needs to be used/selected before the button will
activate. For a simple example, if the quantity edit field is blank, then
a
number needs first to be entered. In other cases, I've seen where a size
or

a color choice must first be selected before the button can be activated.
There are so many variables in a simple shopping app that is dependent on
the item itself, that it's hard to pin down a specific problem related to
JAWS.

Just a comment about the fact that I just went to two different websites
to
purchase items and in both of them I was unable to add the item to my
cart.

I am so sick of this. I can look it up and find it, but then can't get
anything to work to add to the cart. I tried three browsers and none of
them

worked. I know my jaws is old, jaws 14, but honestly shouldn't something
work? Any ideas are appreciated. I know homicide is out! Judy & Libby

No, but Firefox V 60 should be coming out this month. It's supposed to
work with the latest Jaws. You could in the meantime do what a lot of
others have done and has been recommended by VFO and use the ESR version
to keep up on security updates.
I'm currently running Firefox ESR Version 52.7.4 that I just updated this

What a crazy key combination. I'm fortunate to have a PC keyboard where
the JAWS key is next to the f12.

But even with this layout, it is rather weird.
I put my thumb on the m, right pinkie on the JAWS key, then use any other
finger on my left hand to hit the alt.

I use one hand to do things most of the time, and I wish I had a keyboard
that had an insert key on the left side along with a num pad. I know one
can get an external num pad. But I don't really use strange key
combinations often. But I would appreciate an escape key on the right
side.

Anyone know of any, I did find blackjack once but never saved it to a

I found Klondike solitaire which is very accessible from spoonsville but
this person doesn’t program gambling type games.

It would be nice to find such games that I don’t have to play online!

Hi Vicki,

After opening the "empty" pdf, hit JAWSKey+spacebar followed by "od"
(without the quotes).
This invokes the OCR document scan. It will take a bit of time for the
scan, depending on the size of your document.
The result is then displayed in the virtual viewer.
If you wanted to, once the scan is complete, you could select all of the
text, copy it to the clipboard and paste it into a text file.

Hey.

While I don't know precisely what is going on, I don't think it's entirely
just to say that Mozilla has decided that accessibility is unimportant. In
fact, Firefox 57 does work fairly well, right now, with even the previous
(IE, not just released) version of NVDA. It's not perfect, but they have
promised that v58 will be better, and I see no reason to doubt them on
that.

In the meantime, we can keep using the ESR version, which will continue to
be supported, and works great with the screen-reader of your choice. I
don't
exactly know why NVDA is ahead of JAWS in this matter of Firefox
57/Quantum,
, but I've yet to hear from anyone using JAWS 2018 and maybe it works
better

there? I have JAWS 18, and part of the reason I've been switching more and
more to NVDA lately is that I'm not really in any position to buy a JAWS
upgrade at this time. Still going to hang on to both though.

I dont like the way things are going for us. firefox has decided blind
accessibility is not important and Edge is not supported by Jaws very well
and IE is getting left behind that leaves us with Chrome... Good for

not so good for us...

I am running Win 7 Pro and am using the latest version of JAWS with no
difficulties. As for JAWS Home vs. Pro, the software is identicle. The
difference has to do with whether or not you are using the software at home

Hello,

I made reference to this question in another e-mail, but I am wondering if
others are experiencing this.

I am using IE 11 on a Toshiba laptop with Windows 10 creator edition.
Even before that, though, IE seems to get hung up often when trying to
load. All of a sudden I lose either speech, or the web page won't resolve
itself, then I get some kind of problem message with IE that differs
slightly from one incident to another, with the final announcement that IE
is closing.
Sometimes closing the program puts me where I want to be on the site in
the first place, but not always.

Are there any helps for this? IS this the way IE interfaces with Jaws, or
is this just IE not getting support?

Thanks for your help.

You should get one the first time you buy JAWS and if you have an SMA you
should get one each time a new version of JAWS comes out. That original CD
on the jacket will note your authorization code which you will need if you
have a crash and have to reinstall, or if you get a new computer and have

2017-10-18 Thread Andy Baracco
i considered this issue in 2012 and earlier this year when I had to replace
a PC. I stayed with Windows largely because I couldn't justify the cost
differential. Macs are simply more expensive and when you get down to it, a
PC does what a PC does. The Mac doesn't do anything that would justify the
higher cost.

A good number of people like it. I personally would not consider switching,
not because of JAWS (NVDA is great really, in its own way, too) but
because

of the OS, but then I don't really like Apple products in general. My best
advice is to try it out before you go out and buy a computer. Get a feel

it and see what you think. You may find the experience a pleasant one, and
in that case it'll totally be worth taking the plunge, so to speak.

You can either set up a dual boot system, or you can run Windows in a

The experience is totally different. Some concepts are similar, but you will
need to be prepared to put aside your knowledge of Windows and accept a
learning curve. You can put Windows on a Mac, and that way you can continue
to perform essential tasks while learning a new system.

Hi everyone,

So I currently use Jaws on my work computer, with windows who knows what,
I'm technologically challenged.
I want to buy a home computer and am looking at the MacBook's because I
love my IPhone.
My question is, is anyone out there able to give me an idea of how I might
find the Mac, keeping in mind I use Jaws every day?
I know this is a Jaws list, but I guess I just don't want to go out there,
buy a Mac and find it is not as user friendly as my good old faithful
Jaws.

P.S. I have looked all over the net and into mac sites etc. but I'm just
trying to cover all my bases so to speak.

Thankyou in advance.

Hi Arianna,

Did this problem just start happening all of a sudden?

Awhile back if you pressed, Jaws key + Z, to toggle the virtual cursor on
and off, would sometimes fix this issue, & sometimes it took invoking the
keystroke more than once.

If you copy & paste the link into the Run dialogue & press enter will it
work then?

Also, is it possible that the links are sent in plain text? If so, then
pasting them into the Run dialogue should work. Or, you can try the
keystrokes below on the links.

To open links sent in plain text, try the following for Outlook Express.
#1. Place the cursor at the beginning of the link & invoke the keystroke,
Shift + Enter.

#2. Place the cursor at the beginning of the link & invoke the keystroke,
Alt, Shift, + H. Invoking this particular on a link somehow turns the
link

into an HTML link & now, just press enter.

Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers!

Please keep in mind that displaying your messages in HTML is less secure
then displaying them in plain text.

This way, when the e-mail is in plain text, you don't have files that
might be viruses being activated, or beacons being triggered for fishing
e-mails.

I, for one, would not rely on my anti-virus, especially since I'm using
the free one by Microsoft, to completely secure my computer, so I take
every precaution.

If you find this is only happening a fraction of the time, in other words,
you're mostly copying links to send space, or something like that, it's
best to leave it in plain text, and if there's a link you have to click on
to go view a product, let's say, press the keystroke of alt+shift+H, this
will switch the e-mail into HTML, and keep the rest of your e-mails
secure.

Just a thought.

You said you were using Windows 7 and most of this stuff is for older

If none of that stuff works, just copy the hyperlink and paste it in your

First, you can get a version of OE for Windows 7-10 if you want. It is at
runasxp.com.

Ok, I found this on a Microsoft Answers site; hope this helps...

Express e-mail clients, click the following article number to view the

257824 OL2000: Differences Between Outlook and Outlook Express
Symptoms
When you start Outlook Express, some of your default folders (Inbox,
Drafts,

and so on) or personal subfolders that you created may be missing from the
Local Folders list. The folders were previously visible.

Cause
This issue can occur if the Folders.dbx file is damaged or corrupted.

Resolution
To resolve this issue, rename the Folders.dbx file for the impacted
identity
and then start Outlook Express. This allows Outlook Express to rebuild a
new

Folders.dbx file.

To rename and rebuild the Folders.dbx file:

1.. In Outlook Express, click Options on the Tools menu, and then click
the Maintenance tab.
2.. Click Store Folder, and then make a note of the path to your Store
folder on your disk drive. You cannot type in this box, but you can move
through the box by using the left and right arrow keys on the keyboard.
3.. Close the Store Folder and Options dialog boxes, and then quit
Outlook

Express.
4.. Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Windows Explorer.
5.. Locate the Store folder (you noted the path to the Store folder in
step 2).
6.. Right-click the Folders.dbx file in this folder, and then click
Rename

on the shortcut menu.
7.. Type Folders.old, and then press the ENTER key. Make sure that the
file is renamed to Folders.old, and then quit Windows Explorer.
8.. Start Outlook Express. This automatically creates a new Folders.dbx
file; your folders should be displayed correctly.
NOTE: Always back up your data before you make any modifications to any
message store files, such as the Folders.dbx file. For additional

Hi Dennis, open internet explorer.
Alt T for tools, O for option, Shist Control tab once to get to the
advance page.
If you wish to get fomiliar with what's there, you can arrow down through
the lists of items there. If you want to get there quickly, press M until
you hear multimedia open.

I have the following turn off:
Enable automatic image resizing-OFF
2 of 7
Play animations in webpages-OFF*
3 of 7
Play sounds in webpages-OFF
4 of 7
Show image download placeholders-OFF
5 of 7
Show pictures-OFF
6 of 7

However, I don't recommend turning off play sound on web pages.

Judy, I normally use IE for M.facebook, but I tried it with chrome and I
find what IE shows as link, chrome shows as button.
You are correct, no events button I see there.
Also, I find some sites with radio buttons, check boxes and combo chrome

lots of work to do for accessibility.

On another note, because no one with sight is using my computer, I turn
off

allot of the feature in internet explorer, like play annymation and show

That depends on what you want to do with the document. importing into
Notepad would change the document into a plain text file, and you would lose
any formatting.

I'm running Windows 10 Anniversary edition. Wordpad didn't work very
well for me. It didn't seem to translate everything properly. By that, I
mean that there were some characters/symbols that were left in the
document. Specifically in the example I tried, there was a backslash (\)
character at the beginning of some lines. Also, I'm not sure how the
document might have looked in Word, but the formatting seemed unlikely.
All the text was strung together with no logical line breaks or blank
lines.

Perhaps I just don't know how to use Wordpad, so if this is the case,
some instructions on how to configure Wordpad would be appreciated.
Otherwise, are there any other suggestions for free programs to access
Word documents? I'm not looking to create or even edit Word documents,
it's just that occasionally I'll be given a Word doc that I want to read
and sometimes getting it in another format is not an option.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi All,

Another option might be WordPad. At least with Windows 10, WordPad will

I do not know how much of that works in Windows 7 WordPad, but I know

Hi Jo,

You need MS Word to open this file. The file extension, .doc, is the
old file extension for MS Word prior to Word 2007, & possibly 2003,
but I'm not sure about 2003. If you have a newer version of Word
installed, you will also need to have the, Compatibility Pack,
installed. This program allows newer versions of Office to open,
read, & edit older files from older Office versions.

If you need to know how to assign a program to open this file, now
this is a totally different set of steps. First we need to know if
you have Office installed, & possibly what operating system you're
running depending on your needs.
Take care, Mike.

Hi Jo,

You need MS Word to open this file. The file extension, .doc, is
the old file extension for MS Word prior to Word 2007, & possibly
2003, but I'm not sure about 2003. If you have a newer version of
Word installed, you will also need to have the, Compatibility Pack,
installed. This program allows newer versions of Office to open,
read, & edit older files from older Office versions.

If you need to know how to assign a program to open this file, now
this is a totally different set of steps. First we need to know if
you have Office installed, & possibly what operating system you're
running depending on your needs.

That exact same thing happened to me. The solution proved to be the
following steps.

Open WordPad, and press control + o to open the file directory system.
Tab
to the file type combo box, then arrow up or down to the format you want
to

open, e.g. a .doc or .docx Word document. Press enter on the appropriate
line.

Next, press shift + tab to get to the list of folders/files that are in
your

computer as the default folder for document files.

Arrow to the file you want, press enter.

The results should now be more in line with the original .doc or .docx
file.

Important tip! Be sure to check that file type combo box every time you
open WordPad. The default setting, for example, is only for WordPad
documents. You need to arrow down to the very end of the list (or use the
end key), and there is the all-files filter, the only one that will show
you

all the files and folders on your computer.

Best of luck, and hope the above helps.

I'm running Windows 10 Anniversary edition. Wordpad didn't work very well
for me. It didn't seem to translate everything properly. By that, I mean
that there were some characters/symbols that were left in the document.
Specifically in the example I tried, there was a backslash (\) character
at
the beginning of some lines. Also, I'm not sure how the document might
have

looked in Word, but the formatting seemed unlikely.
All the text was strung together with no logical line breaks or blank
lines.

Perhaps I just don't know how to use Wordpad, so if this is the case, some
instructions on how to configure Wordpad would be appreciated.
Otherwise, are there any other suggestions for free programs to access
Word
documents? I'm not looking to create or even edit Word documents, it's
just
that occasionally I'll be given a Word doc that I want to read and
sometimes

getting it in another format is not an option.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Ann,
Thank you very much, pressing, Insert / Jaws key + Z, is the trick but,
this

keystroke toggles the virtual cursor mode On / off. Press enter on the

you
can tab through the Settings options. Or you can press the Alt key to

From: Mike B
Hi All,

Running Widows 7 Pro, Chrome, & Jaws 15 thru 17 latest. When in Chrome if
you press the, Alt key, it opens a vertical view of the menues. Well, in
J17 when I would arrow down to the, Settings Option & press enter to open,
&

here is where my problems would begin in J17. In J15 & 16 after pressing
enter on the Settings Option I can tab through all the various options
but,

with J17 I had to turn the virtual cursor off, Insert + Z, before I could
navigate through this menu. After some playing around in Jaws 17's Quick
Settings, Insert + V, I found that having these 2 settings set the way
they're shown below allowed me to navigate the Settings Menu with J17
using

the tab key just like with J15 & J16, without having to turn the virtual
cursor off. This might not work for everyone but, it worked for me & it's
something y'all can try if you experience the same thing I encountered.
Here are the 2 settings as they should be:

Heading and Frame Options

Frame show start & end, should be checked.

In line frames show, should be on.

Note: For Chrome settings purposes, you want in-line frames on. for
website

navigation purposes, to skip past ads, you want in-line frames off. The
point remains that, ideally, when we consider a suggestion to change a
setting to solve one problem, we should be aware of the consequences of
the

change.

Hope this helps others than myself.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to save email messages as notepad
documents? I have several older email messages from a different email
client that I cannot open without going through a serious hassle. Many
thanks and humble appreciation.

I am not sure if OE stands for outlook, outlook express is no longer the
program name if I understand right. To set Gmail up with out look you
should

not have to get into the manual set up, you should just be able to enter
your user/email name, account name and password in the outlook email setup
wizard. Here is the tricky part, in the last 8 months or so Google has
changed a setting and you have to go into your Gmail settings to change it
or it wont activate. You have to find a Gmail setting that says something
like, allow less secure apps. If you don't change this setting in Gmail
you

can no longer set up your Gmail with outlook. Here is the link to take you
through the steps. When you do find the setting the wording is tricky so
read three times just to confuse yourself and then uncheck the box, good
luck. https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255?hl=en

Read Gmail messages on other email clients using POP

You can open your messages from Gmail in other mail clients that support
POP, like Microsoft Outlook.

Step 1: Make sure POP is the best way to read your emails

IMAP and POP are both ways to read your Gmail messages in other email
clients.

IMAP can be used across multiple devices. Emails are synced in real time.

POP can only be used for a single computer. Emails aren't synced in real
time. Instead, they're downloaded and you decide how often you want to
download new emails.

Step 2: Set up POP
First, set up POP in Gmail

POP for mail that arrives from now on.
6. At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes.

There is a trick to getting screen reader mode working. You can force
Jarte
to switch to screen reader mode by copying the phrase "enable screen

done one time. This should do what you need.

You can use Shift-Tab from the body of the message to move into the header

then read character-by-character with the JAWS cursor, then Numpad-Plus to
return to the PC cursor.

Just press control-alt-v to paste. The text Mike suggests you copy goes to

control-alt-v.

There's another way to read the person's address that doesn't involve
copying and pasting. Set up a reply to the message with control-r, then
arrow down. The "From" line will display the address in a form JAWS can
navigate letter by letter. Be sure not to send the reply unless you mean to!

Hello, everyone.

My intent with this e-mail is not to stir up controversy, but to try to get
the truth regarding upgrading a Jjaws SMA.

Here's my situation:

My current Jaws SMA ends with Jaws 18.

I recently received a mail notification from Freedom Scientific advising me
that I can renew my Jaws SMA for the next two Jaws upgrades for $120, as
long as I do so by December 31. In a followup conversation with the FS
Customer Service Department, I was told that if I wait to renew my SMA after
December 31, that cost will go up to $180.

I was always under the impression that the $120 SMA renewal cost figure
would be the same as long as you renewed your SMA prior to the next major
Jaws update.

Perhaps I am mistaken here, and wonder what others know about this issue.

I may not be able to renew my SMA prior to December 31, and just want to
know what to expect, or how to advocate for a fair price.

Thanks!

But I disagree with you. I have JAWS 15, 16, 17, and 18. IE11 works just
fine with JAWS 15 and 16 (no delay in the find function), and JAWS 17 and 18
are the bad boys. So it's definitely something with the JAWS architecture
from 17 onward. They made a significant change to JAWS in that version, as
we all recall, since we were no longer able to merge from JAWS 16 to JAWS 17
due to that new paradigm. So it's definitely something they did to break
JAWS 17, and continue to not fix, in JAWS 18.

I have found that sometimes, JAWS will read the check box label
twice, one with the checkbox at the end, and the other sometimes with
and sometimes without the checkbox.

In the case where only one label has the checkbox, it's obvious which
one is the correct one to check, but when they both seem to have the
checkbox, it gets tricky.

What I've found that often helps, is to up arrow to the previous
input field or control, then tab back to the checkbox. Most of the
time tab will land you on the one that works.

Sometimes they use lists item for the various imput fileds, this is
OK for input fields, but for buttons and other controls it can create
a problem if both the list item and the control are selected, which
won't work, often attempts to activate the control are ignored
because they go to the list item instead. Tab will insure that only
the control is selected, which does work.

JAWS does not show the box as checked after you press the spacebar, but it
actually is. After pressing the spacebar arrow down and you will find the
CAPTCHA. Some sites use a challege that you can solve, such as answering a
question, and some offer an audio challenge, but unfortunately many still
only offer the traditional CAPTCHA.

Edge is the browser that comes with the current version of Windows, and MS
is trying to get folks to use it.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Moving from JAWS 17 to 18

2016-11-09 Thread Andy Baracco
You do not need to uninstall the previous JAWS version first. Multiple
versions of JAWS can coexist on the same system. In fact, you won't want to
because JAWS 18 has reintroduced the merge utility, even though that didn't
work for me.

Regarding the installation of JAWS 18, do I need to uninstall JAWS 17 first,
or can I just insert the disk and install it over the current version?
Thanks.

I have had varying levels of success with recaptcha, but it is a step
forward. My beef is that it seems to be used everywhere, even for simple
things like joining an Email list.

Confirming a subscription, I had to verify being human by completing a
"challenge". Selecting an audio challenge I needed to match several
choices with x boxes with a topic, such as fish stew and dance.

The audio challenge was in JAWS-readable text.

I checked appropriate boxes and passed - the third time around. A young
person with only a high school education may have had difficulty with
passing as fish stew included Italian and French stews most people could
not pronounce (cioppino).

Bottom line, though - the audio challenge was a refreshing change from
garbled sounds
