Beverly,

Yes the accessbridge still exists. Since jdk 7, the accessbridge has been
a part of the regular jdk/jre installation.

On windows after installation, you need to go into ease of access
center -> use the computer without a display, and check the accessbridge
checkbox.

Click ok to exit the dialog and restart jaws.

Now as long as the particular java application is using the jdk associated
with the accessbridge or any other jdk from 7.0 or later, things should
work.

Beverly, you can go to blind-geek-zone.net and do a search for Goldwave at
that site. Rick did do a few demonstrations that are more like a tutorial.
they were done for earlier versions, but still apply to the current
version. there's also a brief class-like (1 mp3) tutorial done by Tim
Cummings, and a series (about 9 mp3s) that was done some time ago by a
fellow nicknamed Start Button that's a little more thorough but
lengthier.sorry I don't have the addresses for these two.
if you're looking for written tutorials, maybe someone knows of one or
two.

Hi

While in Internet Explorer, press control+j to open view downloads. Then
tab until you hear options and press enter. Then tab to the browse button
and press enter. Hear you can type the path to the folder you want, or
backtab and browse through the folder list or tree view. When you've
entered or found the folder you want, press enter.

Jaws turns numlock off at startup because it uses the numpad for its

commands.

When you installed Jaws 14 February release, As I did, did you hear the
section with the wizard, the section on Num-lock off or on? You have a
choice to have on or off at start off and if not choice made the Jaws 14
February release is set to off.

Hi,

I know this has come up several times and I am sorry to ask again.

I am on new egg, tiger direct and searching on ebay and I will admit, some
of these brand names are like whaat?

Very basic question, yes, newby for external sound cards.

Which brand should I get because with an external sound card I suppose one
can record a tutorial and have jaws coming through another sound card
correct?

Sorry, I'm very new to this and just want to get info. I am not ashame to

If the above is something that is duable, which external sound card can I
search for on ebay, new egg, etc?

Thank you.

Susie,
I upgraded to Jaws 14 and uninstalled Jaws 13. I did it because I wasn't
having any issues with the new Jaws version. I always test out the new
software before deleting an older and reliable version.
So far, I have had no trouble at all with this new Jaws and I find it
quite

stable in all respects.
However, every system is unique as I'm sure you know.
Give it a try, Susie but set it up so that you can switch back to 13 if
you

start having problems.
Both of these programs are quite large and that's why I eventually deleted
13. If you don't have a space problem, I suggest you leave both of them
in

your system for the time being.
Good luck Susie.

Just beware, if you do the registry hack to use Windows Mail, it could
interfere with getting Windows updates.

Supposedly, if you already have SP1 for Win 7, then it might work, but since
Windows Live works decently with Jaws, you are forewarned. I agree it
doesn't have the look and feel of OUtlook Express, and you have to get used
to the contacts manager for doing things, so you can go with whatever you
want. Also, some people are using Thunderbird from Mozilla which doesn't
require a hack.
