It is not. I can do fine until I have to change the location of an item if I am not shipping from my location. I do what I usually do on the link and nothing happens. If you want me to send you a link to where you can download it then write me off list and let me know. It is quite easy to use the program. When the program is opened you can tab to an add button that can be used to add the files you want converted. You can then use tab key until you hear the path for the file being converted and the destination path for the new file. After doing so, you can tab until you get to a combo box for picking a type of file. If you use down arrow in that box you will find the choice for Microsoft. Use tab again and you will find a combo box from which you can pick WMV for the web or WMV generic as the output type. Good morning everyone. I apologize for asking for help from everyone on this list, as I know that it has been asked before. But I need to ask again, Could anyone please repost the directions on how too clear out the run dialog edit box? I tried doing it with putting the cursor on the first carecter, and then backspacing over it, or doing a select all with control a, and last but not least, shift end, with delete key, with no success. When these instructions were posted too the list before, I thought that I had put them in to a folder that I had created for this purpose which I called, helpful hints. I did go too the jaws users home page to look it up, but I couldn't find it there. I looked on the utilities page, tips and tricks page, and the misk page, as well as the programs page. Re: [JAWS-Users] Application File for Jaws
Have you done a disk scan, and a scann for viruses and spyware? Jot saying that's the issue but that's where I always start. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Steve S. Sent: Tuesday, June 09, 2009 9:03 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Application File for Jaws Hi, I asked about this once before and recieved no response so I'm trying again. About 90 percent of the time when I unload then reload JAWS I get a window pop up saying, Application File For JAWS. It then asks if I want to send an error report. I usually hit the don't send button and the window closes and things seem to work normally. I've run a JAWS repair and performed a registry clean-up, a defrag and error scan. Is this a JAWS problem or an operating system issue? I'm using JAWS 6.1 and XP home edition. I'd like to upgrade my JAWS but don't want to spend a fortune and put it into a sick machine. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. The program is active, but Jaws simply isn't speaking. I have turned on NVDA and have confirmed that Jaws is active as when I press enter on the Jaws 10 icon, the Jaws menu pops up. To resolve the problem, I have to shut down Jaws and restart it. Does anyone know if this can be by-passed or maybe eliminated altogether? As a side note, I have confirmed at one point, when I picked up the phone to make a call right after re-booting my computer, as I was speaking to the other party over the telephone, I noticed that Jaws was coming through the hand set of the cordless phone. Keep in mind that this does not happen if the phone is unplugged as I reboot the computer, or when I shut Jaws down and restart it after a reboot. If I am going to get Jaws coming over the Skype phone, it has to be used right after a reboot and the phone plugged in. Oh, I should also note that Jaws will not come through the handset unless I'm on a call. If the phone is just sitting there, Jaws will not come through. Does anyone have a solution or explanation as to why this is happening? I have surmised that the Skype phone is taking the place of my sound card at start up, but this wouldn't explain why I am able to get NVDA or other windows sounds through the computer, but not Jaws. I have confirmed this happening on, both my desktop computer running a Quad Core, and my laptop, running a dual core processor. Any help would be appreciated. Don't think there's a way as you need to hit the play button to start the thing when you first open up said program. Re: [JAWS-Users] try it again-moneytalks
Actually what I do is copy and past just the body of the email with out the addresses all with out forwarding the thing, then I create a merge in outlook and it sends the message out. If anybody wants the podcast link I can give it to you. Let me know. I use jaws 10 and outlook 2003 for this particular podcast. Take care. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Marilyn Walker Sent: Tuesday, April 21, 2009 6:18 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] try it again-moneytalks Do you really know how to forward e-mails? Most of us DO NOT know how. Do you wonder why you get viruses or junk mail? -- Every time you forward an e-mail, there is information left over from the people who got the message before you -- namely their e-mail addresses names. As the messages get forwarded along, the list of addresses builds, and builds, and builds, and all it takes is for some poor sap to get a virus, and his or her computer can send that virus to every email address that has come across his computer. Or, someone can take all of those addresses and sell them or send junk mail to them in the hopes that you will go to the site and he will make five cents for each hit. That's right, all of that inconvenience over a nickel! -- How do you stop it? Well, there are several easy steps: -- (1) When you forward an e-mail, DELETE all of the other addresses that appear in the body of the message (at the top). Highlight them and delete them, backspace them, cut them, whatever you know how to. You MUST click the 'Forward' button first and then you will have full editing capabilities against the body and headers of the message. If you don't hit the forward button first you won't have full editing functions. It is annoying to most people to have to scroll through 200 e-mail addresses before you get to the email. -- (2) Whenever you send an e-mail to more than one person, do NOT use the To: or Cc: fields for adding e-mail addresses.. Always use the BCC: (blind carbon copy) field for listing the e-mail addresses. This is the way the people you send to will only see their own e-mail address. When you send to BCC: your message will automatically say 'Undisclosed Recipients' in the 'TO:' field of the people who receive it. That way you aren't sharing all those addresses with all and sundry. -- (3) Remove any 'FW:' in the subject line. You can re-name the subject if you wish or even fix spelling. -- This one is very important - please read and heed. (4) ALWAYS hit your Forward button from the actual e-mail you are reading. By Forwarding from the actual page you wish someone to view, you stop them from having to open many e-mails just to see what you sent. These are the ones that often end up having picked up a virus from somebody. This is really important! -- (5) Have you ever gotten an email that is a petition? It states a position and asks you to add your name and address and to forward it to 10 or 15 people or your entire address book. The email can be forwarded on and on and can collect thousands of names and email addresses. A FACT: The completed petition is actually worth a couple of bucks to a professional spammer because of the wealth of valid names and email addresses contained therein. If you want to support the petition, send it as a separate message or letter to the intended recipient. -- (6) Some of the worst e-mails are the ones that say something like, 'Send this email to 10 people and you'll see something great run across your screen.' Or, sometimes they'll just tease you by saying something really cute will happen. IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN! -- (7) Before you forward an Amber Alert, or a Virus Alert, or some of the other ones floating around nowadays, check them out before you forward them. Most of them are junk mail that's been circling the net for Years! Just about everything you receive in an email that is in question can be checked out at Snopes. Just go to: http://www.snopes/http://www.snopes. com/ -- It's really easy to find out if it's real or not. If it's not, please don't pass it on. So, please, in the future, let's stop the junk mail and the viruses. -- Finally, here's an idea!!! Let's send this to everyone we know (but strip my address off first, please). This is something that SHOULD be forwarded.
