Re: [JAWS-Users] I was wondering what would be the best E-mail client to use?
Hi there, I'm currently using Windows Live Mail, it has some issues but, nothing I can't handle. Windows Live Mail comes with Windows Live essentials, it is all in one installer, you just select the applications you want to install and uncheck those you don't want. I hope this helps. On Google.com, for example, if I press the letter E, it will go to the place where the search field should be. Instead of saying search edit, though, it simply says blank. The search area sounds like this: search, blank, blank, search button. Pressing spacebar or enter does nothing. I have tried it with other web sites and it seems to work with some, like gmail and freedomscientific, but not others, like amazon or Yahoo, where it does the exact same thing I just described about Google. He has a Toshiba laptop, Windows home premium, and Jaws 9, latest version. I ran two repairs on jaws, and then I completely removed and did a clean install of Jaws, all to no avail. I have never experienced anything like this before. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Now type SND until you get to sndvol.exe and press enter to look at the volume mixer. If you do not want to take that long route, once you are on the sndvol.exe option, you can bring up the context menu and send it to the desktop (or where ever you prefer), pin it to the taskbar, start menue etc for quicker access. I renamed the sndvol.exe to volume CTRL and just placed it on my desktop, so I wouldn't have to take the seenick route. I hope this is what you were looking for, if not, hopefully someone will bennefit from what I just wrote.:) Have a good day. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Rick Justice Sent: Monday, March 14, 2011 2:23 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] windows 7 volume control Hi Fanus, In Windows 7, open the start menu, and type the word volume in the search box you should get a list of results which you can down arrow thru. Ok here is what you can do, just download this file http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1427462/J11.0.756-32bit.exe and try to do a repair then use this link http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1427462/J11.0.1461-32bit.exe to get the update. I hope this works. I will keep these links up for a while, just tell me when you have successfully downloaded the two files, the previous build and the latest build, note: the latest build is the second link, these files are the 32 bit versions of JAWS. I'm finding that jaws eleven is a little slower at getting to where I want to go. Well I mean the speech, and I have to press the control button so I can change properly. This might sound confusing, but even well after I have pressed where I want to go, it's still speaking on the previous menu, and it's really annoying. I hope you understand what I mean. Brian Lee brianl...@charter.net Hello Ann, I haven't used Open Book for some time but if I remember right the option to save a file as an audio file was in the file menu. Another idea to consider might be using www.zamzar.com. They will convert PDF to MP3 and the audio is quite good. I sent them a file recently and had it returned in just a couple minutes. I have put a link below to the file on my SkyDrive page so you can listen to the audio. The file I submitted was a PDF file on bluetooth technology and the resulting MP3 was a lot better than I thought it would be. If you follow the llink below you will be taken to the page for downloading the file. Use insert with f7 and pick the download link on the web page. You can choose to save it if you want to or just open it to hear it. If you use ZamZar then all you need to do is browse to the file on your drive and upload it, put in your Email address where they can send a link to the file, choose MP3 from the combo box and submit the file. When you follow the link they send you there will be an alternative to download the file, which you can do to get the MP3 file on your computer. Here is the link to the audio file on my SkyDrive page that I had them convert if you want to hear some of it to check out the quality: http://cid-df4620463321b782.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/Bluetooth%2 0Wireless%20Technology%20Basics%20for%20HP%20DV6.mp3?authkey=AytbBqUdato%24 View File Take care. Re: [JAWS-Users] Repairing Jaws
If you want to repair JAWS, download the setup file from here: http://www.freedomscientific.com/downloads/jaws/jaws-downloads.asp. Hope this helps. Running the downloaded program file reports that I still have an existing copy of the software installed and trying to do something via the uninstall option in Add or Remove Software just gives me uninstall options and no repair. Re: [JAWS-Users] Win-7 and Jaws
No, from what I've heard, JAWS 10 doesn't work with Win 7., if you want to use Win 7, it is recommended to have JAWS 11 or grater. - Original Message - From: Patricia pzoell...@tx.rr.com To: Users of Jaws JAWS-Users-List@jaws-users.com Sent: Tuesday, March 09, 2010 2:33 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Win-7 and Jaws Does win 7 also work with jaws 10?
