Re: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft Word with too much verbiage.
Try shift F8 or control Shift 8, don't remember but it will turn off those marks. Following the line instructions helped a bit. This got rid of some of the verbiage, however, I hear paragraph mark when using the left/right arrow when reading a document. By the way, I do not have Office just Microsoft word with XP. Thanks. Hello Rich, You might want to check to see if your line and paragraphs indication is turned off. Use JAWS key with V and type the word line (without the quotes) in the search box. Use down arrow key to the lines and paragraphs indication and if it is set to anything else but Off then press spacebar until the Off option is chosen. Tab to the OK button and press spacebar. The CTRL+Shift+8 keystroke toggles the state of the View All option so if you used it thinking that the option was active when it wasn't then you might have checked the option. To make sure it isn't checked, if you are using Word 2007 or later use Alt followed by H and then use CTRL+right arrow until you hear the Bullets button announced. Use tab key to the Show all button and if it is not checked then press Alt key to leave the menu. If it is checked use spacebar to remove the checkmark. In a version of Word earlier than 2007 go into the tools menu and choose the Options choice. Go to the View tab and make sure the Show All checkbox is not checked. Take care. Re: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft Word with too much verbiage.
go into view and see what is selected in there, in the older words if you had other views than normal or page view selected you could get all kinds of verbiage thrown at you, also there should be a options section in the ribbons, make sure the show all is not turned on in the view portion of the options ribbon selection (I am wording it this way since I know that 2003 keystrokes work with the ribbons in most cases, but do not have any office hire than 2003 so have not the exact knowledge of how to get to things in the office ribbons) I hope this helps, inthane -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Rich Sent: Friday, May 17, 2013 6:27 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft Word with too much verbage. I made sure normal was the only thing checked in view but still get paragraph mark announced. I only have Microsoft word, no Office versions. Thanks for your help.
