Miriam,

Just press control-alt-v to paste. The text Mike suggests you copy goes to the
clipboard. The way to get text from the clipboard is to press control-alt-v.

There's another way to read the person's address that doesn't involve copying
and pasting. Set up a reply to the message with control-r, then arrow down. The
"From" line will display the address in a form JAWS can navigate letter by
letter. Be sure not to send the reply unless you mean to!

Re: [JAWS-Users] Reading an email address

2017-01-08 Thread Adrian Spratt
Mike, you got me to check my notes.

You can view the Windows clipboard by using the JAWS key combination JAWS
key+spacebar, release, then c. Arrow down to see what's copied there. Escape to
close. (I just confirmed.)

If we're not careful, we'll start bringing the Office clipboard into this
discussion, which you reach with alt-h, followed by f, followed by o, then F6
to view.

You can copy only one item at a time to the Windows clipboard. The Office
clipboard can handle more than one item.

But the clipboard Miriam needs is for Windows, not Office.

Again, I'm using Windows 7.

In Windows 7 & 8 the clipboard can only be viewed by doing a slight tweak.
The information & file can be gotten from the link below. I've done this tweak
to all our Windows 7 computers, & it works just fine. You might have to use
the Jaws cursor, & maximize the Clipbook Viewer window to read the contents.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Reading an email address

I have a question when in the contacts folder in Outlook 2000. JAWS will
read the name of the contact but when I open it and tab to the email address
field all that is there is the person's name rather than their actual email
address. How can I get JAWS to actually read me their address or allow me
to cut and paste it into a document

thanks
Al
