Re: [JAWS-Users] What to change in IE to make PDF file read
Hi Mike, I used those steps to change IEon IE9 and IE11. If you have Adobe Reader on your pc you should have Adobe Reader PDF in the tree list on the manage add-ons screen. Also if you have Adobe Reader link helper you need to disable both of them. Then change the filter comb box to "All Aadd-on" then tab to ok. If you do not see Adobe Reader in your tree list make sure when you first bring up the Manage add on screen that it says "toolbars and extensions." If it does not then arrow up or down until you hear "toolbars and extensions." Then when you hear that tab and change the filter box to "All add-on" then tab I think once to the tree view and look for Adobe Reader PDF and Adobe Reader link helper and disable both of them. Thentab to ok button. I hope that helps. Re: [JAWS-Users] What to change in IE to make PDF file read
Hi The option of reading PDF documents in IE or not is an Adobe option, not an IE option. The easiest way to change it is to start Adobe Reader, then go to the edit menu and open the Accessibility sub-menu. From there choose Setup Assistant and press enter. This brings up a multi-page document. On the first page, be Shure to skip Use default settings and bypass setup. Then on the last page of this dialog is the option to Display PDF documents in the web browser. Check this option if you want to have PDF document open in IE, or uncheck it if you want PDF documents to be opened in a separate Adobe Reader window. I believe that this option can also be found in Preferences, but I don't know exactly where it is. Hi Erik, Is this option specific to IE11? I don't see this option in IE10 / Tools / Options / Advanced / Accessibility. Or, is it phrased differently? Thanks much. Take care.
