Re: [JAWS-Users] clickable

2017-07-08 Thread Mike B.
Hi Kevin & Net bat,

Below are 2 different ways of stopping the, Clickable, element from being
reported by Jaws:
how to make JAWS ignore only the announcement of "clickable" without
affecting the other elements is to:

browse to a website that has occurrences of "clickable".
start settings center.
find and expand, speech and sounds schemes.
down arrow to and activate modify schemes.
Tab to, Edit scheme, & press the spacebar.
control+tab to html tab.
tab and down arrow to on click speak.
tab and down arrow to ignore.
tab to and activate ok.
at this point, the modified scheme needs to be saved and chosen to when
the browser is used.

From: Carlos via BlindTech
In
"Settings Center"
under the
"Web / HTML / PDFs"
category, there is a subcategory labeled
"Miscellaneous"
Under
"Miscellaneous"
there is a setting labeled
"Indicate Element Attribute"
Unchecking this setting will stop Jaws from saying
"Clickable"
Although I would not recommend this since there are times when you will miss
out on elements of webpages that may be useful and are clickable.
Carlos
Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers!

It is a type of link or button, with OnClickHandler event, therefore
JAWS does not recognize as link, but if you click on it, the action is
performed.
For example, if JAWS says: Download clickable, pressing enter or space
starts the download, sometimes it does not work well in ff though, and
focus is moved elsewhere.
use "slash" to move to the next click item, and ctrl+JAWSKey+/ to make
a list of them.
HTH, Thank you.

Next time I am on walmart.com I'll try that; however, I routed jaws to pc,
performed a left mouse button click and the reason why I couldn't find what
I was looking for is because I should've explored the page better.
Apparently, after performing the left mouse click, I
should've down arrowed and there were boxes to check for a gift
receit/wrapping etc.
And George did you go out and get the Walmart card yet? Lol. I don't
qualify, hahaha hahaha hahaha.

It was only a suggestion towards a possible solution; don't worry about
it. Quick Settings (Insert+v); Press TAB KEY once; Press G twice, to
bring up Graphics; and then press SPACEBAR to have ALL Graphics read
(including unlabelled graphics, which are assigned numeric values). Good as
JAWS may be, it may not be able to work optimally in all situations.

Hi Kate,

Are you talking about the mouse over command when you're on a webpage? In
case this is what you mean, there is a way to turn this off.

1. Hit insert-6 on the number row. This brings up the Jaws configuration
manager.
2. Now hit Alt-S and arrow down to HTML options, and hit enter.
3. Now, do the control-tab until you hear Misc Page.
4. Tab until you hear, indicate element attribute.
If this is checked, uncheck it with space bar.
5. Now tab to OK, and save your changes.
   That should fix it.
By the way, there is also another command in this list that's called Screen
Track Virtual Cursor.
I also have this unchecked. with this checked, anything you do with Jaws
causes the screen to move with the virtual cursor. With it unchecked, you
can move about the webpage, and the text on the screen doesn't move. This
is great is you're with someone sighted and they're also trying to read the
same page. They are free to move about the page with the mouse and neither
of you interferes with what the other is doing.
Did this make sense? Hope so.

Jack

Re: [JAWS-Users] clickable clickable

2009-02-03 Thread Lisa Belville

Hi, Kate.

I have this problem on the Zap2It sight.

I thought I read someplace that clickable is the new term for On Mouse
over JAWS used in previous versions, but I may be wrong about that.

Plus, it seems to identify text next to or under the link as clickable when
I know from experience that the text under the link is just that; text
that's not dynamic in any way.

Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? Is does get annoying
after a while.

I use web mail through hotmail. When I read my emails, it's constantly
saying clickable clickable, after every line of text in an email message.
Is there a way to turn this off?

Re: [JAWS-Users] clickable clickable

2009-02-03 Thread Jack

Hope so.

Jack

Re: [JAWS-Users] Clickable mouse-over links

2009-01-02 Thread Donald Marang
You should be able to have the keystroke Alt + down arrow open (expand) the
list. Sometimes referred to as a drop down menu by the sighted. Then use
the arrow keys to get the value you want and then Alt + up arrow to close
(collapse) the combo box. Usually, you can also press Tab to keep the
selection as the item you were on and go to the next field.

Sometimes when you activate a mouse over, it simply adds new information,
options or links. Most of the time it is immediately above or below the
mouse over link. It is not always easy to find and can get very
