[JAWS-Users] outlook 2010 not automatically reading message after deleting previous message

2012-02-15 Thread John R Vaughn
List, I am running latest jaws 13, windows 7 and outlook 2010. When I open
an E mail message, jaws automatically reads the message. But when I delete
the message (using control key plus letter D) and another message opens, it
does not read automatically.

In quick settings, I have the check box checked for jaws to read messages
when opened.

Am I using the wrong type of delete key?

Any other thoughts

John

Try just delete key to send to your delete folder or shift
delete to permanently delete it

Al, when the message is opened, the delete key alone or with the shift key
do nothing.
So the control key with letter D is the only thing that works to delete the
message. If the message is not open, then as you note, the delete key or
shift delete key work.
I am using a laptop but do not think that makes a difference?
Thanks for the prompt suggestion though.

Re: [JAWS-Users] outlook 2010 not automatically reading message after deleting previous message

2012-02-15 Thread Brian Lee
Hello John,

There is an option that can be set to tell Outlook to open the next item
when one is deleted. When in the list of a folder use Alt+F followed by
Alt+T to move into the Outlook options. Use down arrow key in the list of
options to move to the Mail options. Use shift+tab three times to get to
the combo box that controls what Outlook does when you delete an open
message. Use down arrow key until you get to the choice that tells Outlook
to open the next item. Tab to the OK button and use spacebar. If your JAWS
setting is set to read messages automatically, the next message in the list
should open and JAWS should start reading it after you use CTRL+D in an open
message to delete it.

Take care.

Brian, have that item checked. Note Karen's message after yours with the
same problem. So I may write FS support with this issue if another person
comes up with the same problem.
Thanks for your help though, made me revisit the process to change settings
use the ribbons in office 2010.
