Al, when the message is opened, the delete key alone or with the shift key
do nothing.
So the control key with letter D is the only thing that works to delete the
message. If the message is not open, then as you note, the delete key or
shift delete key work.
I am using a laptop but do not think that makes a difference?
Thanks for the prompt suggestion though.
John

Try just delete key to send to your delete folder or shift delete to
permanently delete it

Subject: [JAWS-Users] outlook 2010 not automatically reading message after
deleting previous message

List, I am running latest jaws 13, windows 7 and outlook 2010. When I open
an E mail message, jaws automatically reads the message.
But when I delete
the message (using control key plus letter D) and another message opens, it
does not read automatically.

In quick settings, I have the check box checked for jaws to read messages
when opened.

Am I using the wrong type of delete key?

Any other thoughts

John
