Yes it’s a feature introduced in win8. I have gone through the steps to shut down my computer at night, only to find the next morning that JAWS is still talking when a key on the keyboard is pressed. Most times it shuts down just fine, then there are times when it doesn't. My computer runs very quietly, so I never hear it after thinking that I have shut it down.
