Unfortunately, when it comes to Adobe Reader, you have to use the latest
version because earlier versions, while possibly more accessible, are less
secure and more vulnerable to hacker attacks.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Adobe XI Settings Changes, Adobe Works Again!

2012-12-02 Thread Mike B.
Hi Jim,

Let me explain quickly about this change. In AdobeX in the General tab the
checkbox, Enable Protected Mode at startup, needs to be unchecked for Jaws
to work correctly but, this checkbox is not
in the General tab in AdobeXI like it is in AdobeX, it's in the Security
Enhanced tab. in AdobeXI

To open preferences do the following:

1. Find your AdobeXI shortcut on the desktop or in the start menu & press
enter to open the Adobe main window.
2. You can get to preferences 2 ways from here.
A. While in the Adobe main window, press control + K to open preferences.
B. Or, press Alt + E, for the edit menu, arrow up to preferences & press
enter.
3. In preferences, arrow up or down until you find the Security Enhanced tab
& tab 1 time or, until you find the, Enable Protected Mode at startup
checkbox & uncheck this box with the spacebar.
4. Tab to okay & press enter or spacebar to save your changes & close.
Hope this helps.

Take care.
