I think we have to differentiate applications and services:
Twitter and Joost's source code or compiled form are not avaiable

It could be useful as a showcase of XMPP based technologies. But in
that case someone needs to extend an existing CMS so that it become a
sexy showcase. If it is really sexy it can speed up adoption of the
XMPP extenstions in the main project.

It's open source:

http://jabberstudio.org/projects/jabberstudio/project/view.php

Feel free to fork it. The original developers have disappeared.

2. JabberStudio uses a lot of bandwidth (probably 90% of the
bandwidth used by the XSF infrastructure) and our hosting provider is
unhappy.

In france we have hosters like dedibox which provide 100Mbps connection
( without limit of transfered datas ), with a server 2GHz, 1GB of

3. We have continued to have trouble with JabberStudio, first the

( point 2 )

(point 4 )

4. The admin (c'est moi) doesn't have time for all this fun.

I think i can have.

Good luck. :)

5. There are plenty of great options out there (Google Code Hosting,

Sourceforge, i think it's a company who host/develop it, and not open

Fork the code, find a host, and have fun. I'm finished with

Hey,
Its probably due to the cost of keeping the site running and its not being
used much anymore. I know there are a bunch of stale projects and there
have been issues with the site itself. I think it will help the community
because its just a drain right now. Good luck to all projects in finding

I added a link to that from the notice page at http://jabberstudio.org/

But it seems to redirect to rss20.xml and that doesn't exist. :)

JabberStudio will be shut down on March 26, two weeks from today. If you
host a code project on JabberStudio, you will need to find a different
repository by March 25. There will be no exceptions. May we recommend
the following?

http://sourceforge.net/

http://savannah.gnu.org/

http://code.google.com/hosting/

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly.
