Re: Auto Complete in WLM
Hi Jim, there are a couple of issues with autocomplete in wlm. The first is that it only autocompletes the names or email addresses of contacts. The second is that Jaws doesn't automatically read out the autocompleted text. So one way of getting round this is to type in part of the name or address, press tab, and then press insert + up arrow to read the completed text. Note that if it couldn't complete the text, then you're moved to the next edit box, indicating that you have to go back and try again. Problems with Jaws 15 and MS word 2010
Hello all. I have a client who is having a problem with Jaws 15.0 and Word 2010. Here's the description. Having a problem with Microsoft Word 2010 and JAWS 15, after about an hour and half the computer starts acting up. Was setting up tables in a document and could not get JAWS to read the column titles. Used the tab key to read columns and nothing, also did a shift tab and still nothing. Did a screen refresh and nothing. JAWS would not read anything. When I was creating the table I used bookmarked the column titles and JAWS would read them, entered in the data and JAWS would not read anything. After a little while JAWS was saying control with everything I pressed. I was able to get that to stop by pressing the control of the left side of keyboard 3 times. Has anyone had the same problem, and what did you do the fix this? James -- next part -- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Re: Problems with Jaws 15 and MS word 2010
When JAWS gets flaky I unload/reload it. I love the insert+windows+f4 keystroke for doing this, because it reloads JAWS as well. If that doesn't work, reboot. JAWS's brain just gets scrambled after an hour or so of intense work. I find this particularly true with Excel, all versions, but with Word as well. excel doesn't take as long to blow JAWS's mind, though. At 11:22 AM 9/3/2014, you wrote: Hello all. Kadia, Freedom Scientific won't state which hardware works best with JAWS. Based on comments I've read on this list, I'd steer clear of Hewlett-Packard laptops because they don't seem to. You'll want to pack in as much RAM as the laptop can support. Can I suggest that you're more likely to get a wide range of extremely useful advice if you steer clear of politics? Hi, I've got an Hp laptop, and windows 7, with jaws 15. It works fine. I have stopped some of the automatic HP programs which ocme with it from starting, but that's really all you have to do if you have any conflicts. Acer is another one where their programs can cause conflicts with Jaws, but when I upgraded a laptop for a friend, I found turning off some processes from starting worked fine.
